What's the mobile phone coverage like around Parson's field? I'm on T-mobile if that helps!

I'm applying for a NatWest bank account at the moment, but I've hit a little problem. It wasn't to know my term time address, so I've stated St. Mary's, but apparently the postcode I've put in, DH1 3LR (which is the same as that stated on all the letter's from Mary's) is "invalid".

Has this happened to anyone else/any idea why it happens?

I have no idea about Parson's Field specifically, but T Mobile's pretty rubbish in Durham generally from what I've heard.

If you're trying to apply online, just go in to a branch and fill in some paper forms there (the online forms kept giving me weird problems and errors). DH1 3LR seems to come up fine, atleast google maps shows it to be on Mary's so no idea why it won't work.

From what I can remember on the open day, someone who had a T-mobile phone couldn't get reception any reception so it's not likely to have good reception in Durham (I can say for sure O2 had great reception when I was up there).

Orange also has pretty good reception, I think there's a couple of threads about mobiles in Durham, but coverage has got a lot better.
I like Chad's bar! It's small but has character, unlike Mary's which is small, but somewhat lacking in character.
urgh this is probably going to be the silliest question you have seen. ive just gotten my freshers handbook and i was checking out the "Fees" section when i saw..

Residence Charges: Payable Termly

First Year Undergrads 4,275.00

does that means that i have to pay 4,275 per term or per year?!
Reply 1067
It's 4,275 per year, but you pay it in three payments (one each term).

Do Durham block websites when your using their internet connection? (i.e. ones that let you stream tv programmes / films off them)

Nope. Though they do block lots of programs from the internet, though normally there is a workaround.

Get a program that rips the soundtracks of videos off Youtube. Problemo solved

The swimming pool has been moved, they have a new complex now a bit past Loveshack. A quick google should find it and the details for it.

Just make sure when ripping the videos you set it each time to rip to the music format you want.

Yeah, though there is probably a work around.

Again yes, but someone with the knowhow can unblock it. Normally these people are not too hard to find.

Do they block just the application and/or the websites? I mainly use private ones anyway but it's an arse if you cannot park your account. I just need HTML access to prevent my accounts from being deleted due to inactivity.

Applications.

You can game over the college LAN, however, so if you want to have an intracorridor Counterstrike match or something, you can.
