Which colleges offer self-catered accomodation? Personally, I really don't like the idea of catered accommodation but still want to apply to Durham, however I am aware that a lot of it tends to be catered.

(Sorry for being a total noob btw)

Butler is fully Self-Catered, Cuths has the option to be Self Catered.

Tell me, how do traffic light parties work?

Wear something red if you're taken/not single, orange if you're not looking for some but would if the right person comes along or green if you're blatantly single.

There will always be one girl wearing a bright green dress. Which is always amusing.

I was wondering who do I return the Confidential Health Record Form and Sports Letter to? Should I have mailed it with the License Agreement, Room Allocation Form etc. to the college admissions, or do I mail it separately?

The health stuff gets sent in the envelope you got with the health stuff (it should already be addressed to the correct place).

So do I mail it to that address or do I hand it over to the University Medical Officer personally? The welcome letter wasn't too clear on that. And another question. Can I take my time (within reason) in mailing it as I still have to get my shots done and can't fill that portion yet?

I don't think the medical forms have as strict a deadline as the rest of the stuff, just make sure it gets there a week or two before you go. I just sent the questionnaire and the family doctor registration form in the envelope that was with them.

Is anyone in the Geographical society? If so do they have a website address, just the one I have doesn't work and I'd quite like to find out more about them.

Can a foreign driving license be used as an ID for club/bar entry? I took my driving test in another country so just wondering. It's recognised in England for driving purposes.

Matriculation any kind of suit should be fine

Careful though, Castle might have some old rule that goes along with it.

Thanks  Can anyone else confirm this?

yes most likely. bring your passport too just in case. though in durham they tend not to id during term time - i've only ever been id'd twice in my time, both at places students don't usually go. for your normal klute/studio/loveshack night you probably won't need id.

Ah, bless. The reason I was asking is because I don't want to carry my passport around. Thanks.

I would advise taking it with you tbh. They dont accept Campus Cards...

So everyone just carry their passports around? That strikes me as a little odd.

I hardly ever get ID'd in Durham, but I usually carry my provisional licence around with me. As long as yours has your date of birth on it, I'd expect it should be fine.

Well unless you want to run all the way back to college to get it, yes. Every now and then they decide to ID people, best not to go unprepared.

(I have an old passport for these purposes)
