Not at all.
In fact I'm not aware of anyone sharing who does do the same subject (but that might just be 'cause I don't know of any...)

I was wondering how it works if say I had early lectures and a heavy work load and then my room mate wants to lie in etc. Or if I stay up late, they prefer to go to bed early.

I think as a general rule they try to put people with similar sleeping time habits together. Other than that, I guess you'll just have to live with it.
Sorry if this has been posted somewhere else, but I just got the letter from the DSU about VIP tickets and Ents packages and whatnot, and needless to say, I'm confused.

The VIP is too pricey for me, but I might consider the ENTS one. Is it worth the pennies?

Whether or not the package deals are worth it depends entirely on what events you plan on going to.

im confused aswell... i only want to go to the fresher bop really but i cant find info on buying tickets for that single event. when i click tickets i just find information about v.ip and season tickets.. when can you buy just the bop tickets ?

sorry if im being blind and the info is clearly stated somewhere.
o rit i found the order form where you can buy in advance but i wandering if anyone knows if you can still get tickets like during freshers week because i dont want to buy a ticket and then realise no one that i have met at college is going ..
Don't worry, you can buy everything in Fresher's Week. My college reps actually advise doing it this way, so you don't end up buying tickets for things that noone is going to.
ahh cheers for ur help

Sort of a modern languages question here, but I'd be grateful for responses from anyone.

Did you buy all the "Set Texts" and "Recommended Texts" in the Course Guides, or did you rely on finding them in the library at Durham. It's just that I'm looking at buying the books now, and it's all getting a little expensive at the moment.

Second question: Is there a university stockist who will have copies of Set Texts available? I'm just struggling to find the right edition of Claro Que Si (for Spanish Language 1B) anywhere!
I just got my mailing address which is at Brooks House and was wondering if I could get amazon to deliver there.
Also who shall I put the addressee as. Do I have a pigeon hole number or is it sorted into full names e.g Tom Gunn, Brooks house etc or initials t. h. gunn? I know this seems silly but I don't want my mail to be lost.

At Butler we had a pigeonhole for each letter of the alphabet and post got sorted into those by surname, and then if you got a package you got a note telling you and you'd just take the note to reception with your ID and they'd hand the package over.

May be different elsewhere though.

Also, I just had my mail sent to Firstname Lastname, College, College Address etc etc and that seemed to be fine.

I bought the main 3 from my list. I'm not sure 'bout languages though.

The university Waterstones may well. They tend to have everything you need (and then some... :s-smilie:)
Heya, very quick question: Basically, as i'll be renewing my passport sometime in the first term i'll be without some form of photo ID aside from the NUS card that we get given when we arrive. Will that be sufficient for the student bars/outside pubs? Or will I have to go without inebriation for a couple of weeks?

The college bars will be fine with it, other bars might be less lenient. Though it is unlikely you will be asked in lots of places.
Yeah, especially if you have stubble trouble. Try and upgrade to some beardy-danger and they won't bother asking... simply mutter...

Lazy ****** students, under their breath.

Can I just ask a quick question: on the van mildert sight theres one of those quicktime twirly wirly pictures (I dont know what theyre called, i can barely turn a computer on) on the 'interative tour' sight. Which block is that bedroom in?

Its just that i only saw a Grey room when I went on the open day but now ill be in Mildert (in derwent and wear), I sort of want to know what the room will look like

If it's the one I'm thinking of (http://www.dur.ac.uk/tour/colleges/vanmildert/bedroom/ that one), I think it's one of the rooms in either Tyne or Tees as it's pretty much identical to the one I stayed in on the open day.

If you keep an eye on the Mildert freshers' group on facebook (http://www.new.facebook.com/group.php?gid=8897521858), there should be some photos up there soon of the rooms (not sure which rooms they're putting up photos of though).
