What happens if I move to Australia after as level

My family considering moving this summer but they are corncerned about my education. What happens if I move mid as level and do I have to take my bmat and Ukcat ( do unis look at this?) are the unis good there I've heard uni if Melbourne is somewhat equivalent to kings college London here ( similar rankings and requirements )
How is the education system there?
How will it work and give me ur opinions?
If I finish uni here in England is it easier to find a job in Australia or if I finish uni at Australia would it be easier to find a job there
I want to do Medicine so I don't how that will work if I move there ????

If you move to Australia then you would not be eligible for UK home fees or student loans (unless you can prove that you intended to only stay in Australia temporarily).

I don't know if you'd be eligible for Australian home fees/support but they may well have a similar requirement to the UK (where you have to be resident for 3 years in order to meet the eligibility rules).

Hey  I am a current offer holder for some Australian universities so I'll try to answer your questions:

Firstly, universities in Australia are really good especially the top 5 (UniMelb, ANU, USyd, UNSW, UQ). I may be biased but the University of Melbourne in undergraduate is way better than KCL. They have better teaching and the course structures are brilliant (of course, if you are looking at medicine than KCL is pretty amazing for medicine but I have to say that UniMelb is pretty darn amazing for medicine as well)

There are only a few Australian universities that offer undergraduate medicine and if you are not classified as a permanent resident, you really don't have many choices. A lot of universities in Australia moved into the graduate-entry model for medicine (so application after bachelor's degree to become an MD) Off the top of my head here are some universities that offer undergraduate medicine in Australia: UNSW, Monash, University of Western Australia, Adelaide, and the University of Tasmania. There are also some provisional entry programs that you can take part in like the Bachelor of Science/ MD track in the University of Sydney or provisional entry into MD at UQ but your grades have to be extremely high to get into these tracks. Would also point out that you can apply to medical schools in New Zealand as well (University of Auckland/University of Otago etc...) and they also accept the UMAT I think.

I saw that @StationToStation replied to your queries about an admissions test for medicine in Australia Universities so I won't elaborate too much on that other than to say again that if you apply to Australian Medical Schools as an international student who is not a permanent resident of Australia (don't know if you will be classified as a permanent resident or not but since you are moving I guess you will be a permanent resident?) some medical schools will not accept your application (only for permanent residents of Australia). That being said, International Students who aren't permanent residents may not have to take the UMAT for admissions as well. - I know that University of New South Wales uses ISAT rather than UMAT for admissions into their undergraduate medicine programme for students who aren't classified as local residents.

In terms of work, like Station said, many doctors from the UK move to Australia for work so I am sure that it will be fine!

In regards to education, honestly moving to Australia in the middle of A Levels isn't ideal at all, especially because the Australian education system is pretty different (less specialised so you have to take up English again etc...). One suggestion that I could make is that if your family does decide to move, you can self-study + go to school and take international edexcel A-Levels through British Council (if you aren't going to study in a British International School). That would be a better alternative than heading straight into the Aussie system of education. But I honestly do not know if this is possible (Not sure if ATAR can be calculated with A Levels but I am sure if you ask the universities they would be happy to answer any questions you may have about taking A Levels instead of taking the Australian system tests) The Aussie education system is pretty complicated (and I do not really know how to explain it... because I am not from Australia) and it differs between states.

If you have any specific questions about individual universities I can try to answer them (individual universities and the degree structures are different as well) just let me know and  Good luck and I hope this helps!

Unfortunately I do not know much about funding (not from Australia or the UK) so I can't help much in that realm.
