I dont wana go stumbling into it in during the first few weeks :s-smilie:

Apparently, I'm LIVING in it lol! Red Light Districts are really not that scary tbh. You're generally actually safer there than in other dodgy areas, since local gangs etc tend not to mess with the pimps. I stayed in one in Germany, it really wasn't that bad - just a few hookers and people dressed in leather going into the local sex shop. Oh, and they had machines on the street selling condoms, which was strange.

haha! I doubt it, I'm afraid. There is a Spearmint Rhino somewhere though. £20 a dance, if memory serves.

I always thought it was near Glossop Road. I remember walking down there once eating my Nibbles pizza and a lady of the night stepped out asking for business. I said "Not now! I'm in the middle of my pizza!" and hurriedly walked on.

My friend and I were chased by hookers near St George's church lecture theatre, right after we stole some cheese from the student halls opposite.

Crazy night.

Ok, it's definitely not near hunters bar. I've always been told it was near the mappin building behind (and occasionally around) the broad lane court accommodation.

The arctic monkeys song I assume you're talking about is when the sun goes down, and is about the happenings around the unit they practised in in netherthorpe (see single cover art), that also kinda fits the behind broad lane.

tbh though I expect there isn't a defined area there are just areas not to go wandering around in at night, I don't think many people have chance encounters with prossies.

Well put it this way: I live in Opal 2 and have been approached twice already, one of which was by a 130 year old hooker.

Hunter's Bar is poshtown. RLD is around West Bar... or so I hear.:bootyshak :mb:

Just got asked by the definition of 'low-class hooker' if I was looking for business - although she phrased it rather more explicitly. She was ugly and old as hell, so it wasn't a hard decision really. I'm just worried that a girl's going to ask me who is actually tempting.

I live in the red light district down solly street and so far I've not seen a single one- so can't be that bad. I think it was worse last year when you only had brocco but with the opal 2 development and a lot of private student flats being built around there i think its slowly getting better.
