Resit my maths GCSE

Im 19 years old, I finished sixth form last year finished with A*,A*,D in ICT, Forensic Science and Graphic Design. I'm starting to look for a full-time/apprenticeship in an area of IT, will I be able to find a job with an E in my maths, I have a C in science and a C in English.

Also is there any way to resit my maths gcse without having to go back to collage or doing a lengthy course?

Getting worried im screwed because of my poor maths grade

Employers often use a C in maths and English to filter out applications. Not having one will inevitably mean you will miss out on some opportunities.
You can resit GCSE maths as a private candidate without any attendance at a course, though how successful you'd be without any tutor support is hard to guess.
Private candidates teach themselves and just pay to take their exams at any centre that will accept them. The bad news is that this summer is the last time you can resit the same specification you studied for previously and you have missed the normal exam entry deadline. Entries my still be possible but will be harder to arrange and more expensive. If you don't find somewhere for this summer then you will need to prepare the extra content and harder questions for the new, more challenging specification that you could take in November.

Thanks for the reply, what kind of centres should I look at to take me on, could I contact my old school to ask to allow me to enter a resit? Also if i cannot is there anywhere i could get a head start on learning the new curriculum? Also what kind of centres should i be looking at, should i be looking at collages or something?

Your old school is worth a call. Speak to the exams office.
Any local colleges rather than schools.
Local independent schools
Search google with the phrase private candidate, in some towns there are specialist tutorial and exam centres that will do it.

There will be free (government funded) one year part time courses starting in September, either at a local college or adult learning service.

Www.mathsgenie.co.uk is a good start for revision or preparing for the new topics.

Functional skills level 2 qualifications might be acceptable to some employers and would be worth you investigating.

Good luck.

Any school or college can do it but most don't want the hassle. Retaking science can be a problem due to the controlled assessments. A lot of people do IGCSE instead as there are no controlled assessment. Either ring round your area and ask or try a Google search for local centres. You will also find some useful advice on your examiners web site, including guidance on finding a centre.

Oh okay! thank you very much (and I'll be using my previous controlled assessment as I was told I can do that by the exam board) :3

Well that makes things easier.
Keep in mind that the science specifications are changing. New grade 9-1 exams start next year. Although the examiners will produce resit papers for the current specifications, many centres won't offer them as they wont have any of their own students needing to take them. As you have already missed the entry deadline, doing them this year will be more expensive but it may be advisable to try.
