Spss help!

Hey, I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me with this.
In SPSS I have split my data files by gender in order to compare the groups but after I did this my raw data, in the data editor view, went missing! I accidentally pressed save when exiting and now i don't know how I can get it back. I do have the raw data on the excel files but I didn't want to have to input it back into SPSS and code it all over again. I was wondering if there was a way I could 'recover' the data to what it was in SPSS again?
