AQA Geography Woodland Independent Investigation

For the new geography spec, we have to do an independent investigation where we gather primary data to prove/ disprove a hypothesis. I am intersted in physical geography so want to do something on ecosystems, gathering data in a local woodland- can anyone think of data i could collect- a study question i could do?
