It varies class, there are grade boundaries on the TSR wiki though.

You generally don't. There's no concrete way to switch it over. BTW, was your old school an American school? American schools are the only ones I know of that grade on the percent scale.

It varies between each assessment although I have HEARD (don't quote me on this :p:) that somewhere around 80-90% is 7. I mean if you look at May 2006 English HL world lit, then getting 85%-100% meant a 7.Of course, these varies between subject, year, level and assessment.
2bh this is one of the stupidest questions, its bitch enough to compare a level to IB let alone to percentage scale :p: you could look at grade boundaries for percentage stuff i spose...
The grade boundaries in percentage usually depend on what subject it is - plus annoyingly enough it changes every year I think, maybe depending on the level of competition worldwide...as Afterglow said though, generally the minimum for a 7 is said to be 85%...to get the rest of the grade boundaries just subtract 15 each time, e.g. for a 6 it'll be 70 %, for a 5 it'll be 55%...though as I said, the difference doesn't always have to be 15 either, everything keeps changing.
There is a set grade boundary for the IB each year that they try have as a base...but they would change when the exam comes out(depending on how well ppl do world wide). Some subjects such as English/languages have a bigger 5-6 margin than lets say math...I've only managed to memorize the 6 n 7 boundaries...but its something like this

Humanities(History, econ): 75%+ = 7
English: (21+/25)84%+ = 7
(18/25)72% = 6
Maths SL: 90% (stupid, i know), 75% =6, 60%=5, 45% = 4
Maths Studies/ and HL: 85%
Science: 80% or 85% not sure
talespirit

Maths Studies/ and HL: 85%

are you sure about this one? my school's grade boundaries matches mostly with yours apart from this one...I've heard 78% is a 7 in HL whilst in Studies it's something crazy high, around 97% I think.
97% is just unreal...it is possible that HL is 78% but that is probably the adjusted boundary. I'm thinking the boundary that the IB set during the school year (for predictions) and the ones used in the final exams are different, and those they set before are just nice round factors of 5 numbers ^^.

In Canada:

7 = 95 - 99
6 = 90 - 94
5 = 80 - 89
4 = 70 - 79
3 = 60 - 69
2 = 50 - 59
1 = fail.

No way.

78 for studies is too low, but 97 is too too high

its around 85 and up for a 7

for my school.. a 93 is a 7, 83 a 6, 73 a 5, 63 a 4... anything below it...a fail!
