BIOLOGY- Gas exchange question!
Can someone please explain this:
'The insect lives in dry conditions. Suggest an advantage of the pattern of the spiracle movements shown in the diagram'.
The mark scheme: Spiracles not open all the time; therefore there is less water loss (by diffusion through spiracles);
Does this mean organisms in water are more prone to water/O2 loss.
Moreover, what is the difference between a terrestrial organism and one that lives in water.
