I have a lab to design, where I must compare the different amino acids present in red beans and black-eyed peas. Basically I want to see how many different amino acids they both contain, and to see if they are the same.

I plan to analyse the amino acids present using paper chromatography, and compare the chromatogram produced.

However, i am unsure about the method to use in order to first extract the protein present in each bean.

Any help on extracting the protein from the bean will be appreciated.
