how did mcintyre or philippa foot make it any easier to come to conclusions surrounding moral decisions? virtue ethics seems like such a useless moral decision making process.?

Try Rosalind Hursthouse, 'Virtue Theory and Abortion', in Crisp & Slote (eds), Virtue Ethics. She's trying to address precisely this criticism.
