anybody going on an erasmus exchange to europe this semester

hey i was just curious to know what exactly is Erasmus ?

erasmus is the eu funded scheme where students in the eu can spend anything from 3-12 months studying in another eu country in order to learn the language. you get a grant of about a £1000 from the Eu to do this, often you pay no fees to either ur original uni or to ur host uni for this time. the work you do there counts, although 4 slightly less so lack of language skills doesnt affect ur overall degree as much.

    for more info check www.erasmus.co.uk

some unis such as exeter and bristol extend their course to 4 years and you spend ur 3rd year out. this is for geog, economics, maths, physics and you do a language module in your 1st and 2nd years which count towards your degree in your major subject.

notgoing next term but have to start planning my year abroad in september, which scares me ever so slightly. Can't imagine spending a year at 2 different foreign unis now. I think thta this time next year i'll be starting to turn into a bit of a nervous wreck ;0)
