Just wondering, the Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka Gaiden: Sword Oratoria anime isn't a 2nd season, right?

Not a direct sequel, it adapts a light novel side story. Sounds like it'll pretty much start where the first series started, but focusing on Aiz and her party instead.

Definitely a good season to do so. I think it'll be close between those two in terms of my 'anime of the season' (assuming they're as good as their previous series), though I look forward to seeing whether any of the new shows can come close.

Ah okay, thanks  I was wondering from the synopsis... not sure if it will be as good, but will give it a shot anyway
(Really excited for the kuroko no baske: last game and irregulars at magic high school movies along with the other anime series:biggrin:)

Yeah, I always have mixed feelings when it comes to spin-offs. Side characters are usually side characters for a reason. Worth a look though, as you say.

I hadn't actually looked at what was coming in terms of movies and OVAs; the TV shows alone took a good 9 hours to turn into a thread, so I usually just focus on those. :o: The Haifuri OVA and BLAME! movie appeal most to me, after a quick glance.

A lot of them look like sequels, rip offs, cliche fests, copycats etc. A lot looks rather generic in terms of anime. These two I'm definitely looking forward to since their prequels are in my top 5 anime (the other 3 being the haruhi suzumiya movie, kyoukai no kanata and another or danshi koukousei no nichijou). I've honestly forgotten a lot of anime which I forgot to add to my MAL list (which is why its rather small) which really speaks a lot about them, I remember one about a girl who kept losing her memories and a guy tried befriending but it was too boring to continue watching as barely anything happened.

I've never seen Haifuri, but from myanimelist, I get a similar feeling to nagi no asukara... not sure how similar they are though???
And yup, I'm also looking forward to BLAME, and maybe the fairy tail movie.
I think this year is considerably better than last year.
Just wondering, would you happen to know when SAO ordinal scale will be online? The trinity seven movie took ages

When a series hits it big time (Attack on Titan, One Punch Man etc), studios do tend to start churning out adaptations of series that are similar. Boku no Hero Academia is good, but there's no doubt it rode the popularity of OPM shortly before it. And the repetition in the harem, action and idol shows has been going on for years... I guess I have more time and tolerance for it, since it's my main hobby. :p:

Sounds like Isshuukan Friends. Not the most thrilling, I agree. Plus ef - a tale of memories (one of my all-time favourites) did the same thing earlier, better, and the series featured other characters and plotlines on top of that.

The one about the girl losing her memories, is it maybe One week friends?

Haifuri has much more of a military focus than Nagi no Asukara, I'd say it has more in common with the likes of Girls und Panzer. Very serious in places, though!

Yeah it was that, think I stopped at episode 4 because it was him pretty much having lunch with her everyday and her thinking he's weird with how he acts... MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN PLEASE... this isn't game of thrones where its leading to something.

This image speaks for itself about my level of standards:

(a good show in my book where I forgive its flaws but still point them out in opinions is a 7 which I put Tokyo Ghoul under, 6 is a "I put up with it because it was good at times").

Wow:biggrin: I felt no game no life was a brilliant anime (not in my top 10 or anything, but still pretty good)

I would consider SAO worse than it because I actually watched that and dropped no game so fast. The amount of underage ecchi and... wtf plot annoyed me so much to abandon it faster than anything faster in entertainment outside of video games. The story I just found stupid within the first 3 episodes and honestly I couldn't see it getting any better than that, I actually felt like it was written by a pedo otaku with how ridiculous it was with the characters and world. There was more character development than SAO but the main character was such an egotistical t*** that I couldn't bare him.

:ditto: Pretty much my opinion of No Game, No Life as well. Though after dropping it, friends kept nagging me to give it another chance, so I picked it up again. Then dropped it, and got nagged again, so continued until the end just so I could say I'd finished it.

No amount of nagging would convince me to pick up a second series.

When the first episode was out I said to my online friends who said to watch it "the **** is this ****?".
