My school has recently selected a number of students who have been given the option not to take AS Levels. I was selected, but I am not sure what to do. We have apparently been given the choice because top universities will reject applicants who have poor AS grades, compared to other people who have scored well in their AS.
I take English Lit, Philosophy, Media Studies and Psychology, but because Media Studies is still on the old specification, I must take Media as an AS, but don't know if I should take any other AS's. I was thinking of taking Media and Psychology, since I don't know which one to drop, but not English or Philosophy, because it would give me more time to revise for the Media and Psychology exams, meaning I could get better marks, and could also avoid getting bad marks for English and Philosophy.
Any advice? It seems my school is keen to let students drop the AS's, but I am uncertain as to whether it is the best outcome for me.
