I emailed Durham today... apprantly, my application is still with the Dept. but it hasn't been rejected, yet :s-smilie:  They forwarded my email to the English and Philosophy dept. so I should hear something relatively soon...

I hope you hear back soon, Laus. Good luck!

What did I miss? Why is everyone apologising to Mr. Mod? For the spamming? If so, I apologise too.

Just noticed that one! What does "temporarily" mean, I wonder?

How many times do you have to get temporarily banned to get permanently banned? He DID create a new account after all while he was banned, surely that should of got him in more trouble? :p:

Anyway, I wish Van Mildert would hurry up and tell me whether they'll take me :frown:
Reply 2207
Aww mhsc I'm sure they will. They're a huge college, they'll find a cupboard somewhere to stick you in.

Or you could pitch a tent on their grounds! It's a possibility.

Temporarily banned means for a week I assume. That was the period kevster was banned for the last time.
Reply 2209
He won't last that long.
Tbh chatting about kevster being banned is spam itself so lets just go back to topic

Another day...no news....Q300 Offer/rejection where are you?!

English dept said on friday a decision has been made so if it was a rejection id know by now wouldnt i? Surely its been passed to a college? I hope....

I still haven't decided for definite which uni I want to go to. However, I think TSR has created a certain inevitability that I'll choose Durham. I mean, there are reasons why I do and why I don't want to go to all my possibilities, and before I joined TSR, Durham was slightly edging it but anything could have changed my mind. Now, I'm going to see Bristol tomorrow and St Andrews over the Easter weekend (sandwiching Durham's open day), but while I accept that both are valid options that I may really like, despite having never been there, I already feel a strong bond with Durham, and that's pretty much solely to do with this board.

Awww, I'm touched. As are the others I'm sure. And besides, Durham's English department is undeniably the best!

Where's Reblet when one needs convincing?

Yeah, the undeniable bestness has to be a draw!

To be honest, there's only one thing that makes me hesitate about Durham, which is that my brother will probably go there next year (as in, he has a conditional offer for deferred entry). I don't have a problem with him at all - we get on really well, in fact - but academically, we're on completely different levels and I'm almost insulted that we might end up at the same place. So the rather ugly truth stems from my own arrogance, and I will probably end up getting over it because other than that Durham seems a lot more perfect for me than the others!

 It's funny to be honest. Well I find it hilarious. I enjoyed your snobbery.

But I wouldn't exclude Durham for that reason. Especially so, since you and your brother get on really well. What did he apply for anyway?

Edit: Has anyone noticed that rofl-smiley guy has only one foot?

Hahaha. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Hey, at least I recognise it. He's doing Sociology. Um, yeah.

I thought it was a sort of hand, pointing as it laughed?
