They could take your offer away for lewd public behaviour I suppose. Isn't UCAS supposed to answer all our questions. Time for an update I think.

They'll definitely take mine away if they come to hear of my ninja-style break-in plot. But you girls cancan distract them while I put my plan into action.

I was delighted to receive an offer from Durham today but it's from a college I didn't really like when I went to visit.

I know I'm in a lucky position to have received an offer, but is there even a small chance that I could change college?

I don't feel as excited as I should and it will certainly affect my UCAS decision.

Any replies/response more than welcome!

Which college? And yes you can email the other colleges you are interested in and ask them whether they can take you in since some colleges might not have reached their quota for your course. What is your course and which college did you originally apply to?

I see. I assume you'd rather go to a Bailey college? Well they are ridiculously popular. You could try to mail the admissions of the other Bailey colleges and see whether they have reached the quota and are willing to take you. Just say that you would rather be situated in their college as you feel that it would be a more appropriate fit. If one of the colleges that you're interested in reply favourably, then you could mail Van Mildert to release you, which usually they are willing to do.

That's it. Otherwise you're stuck with Van Mildert I guess. But Mildert actually seems like a friendly place. And they do have that lake. Which makes it sort of pretty. And yes colleges have quotas to fill up for each course to maintain a balance of different courses etc.

You should consider yourself lucky that Durham's best college wants you :mad:

But seriously

Bit in bold: Yes

next question: you will have to ask VM if they will release you and then if they will ask another college if there is space. There is a possiblility of changing college, it has been done before. Also they can't take away your offer once they have given it so don't worry about telling them you don't want to go to VM. (Although personally I can't see why :wink:

)

Hang on generalignorance you said you applied to Chad's here but John's in another thread... if you don't even know the name of the college you applied to I doubt you have a deep connection with it anyway so why not give VM a chance to win you over? I did last year, it has duckies :biggrin:
