Ahhhhh see I was worried about this too. But then when I went to the open day they told us they are moving the anth department to the archeology building, which is on the science site! Therefore our two colleges are really, really close to the anth department now!

Oo that is sooo good!! Although it means I'll probably become the laziest student at Durham - I thought I might have a chance of getting fit having to walk to classes every day... Are they moving it in time for this October?

Oh and does anyone know when people are supposed to arrive at Durham for the start of Freshers' week? Does it start the week before term or at the same time? I'm a little confused

The guy at the open day said we wouldn't be having any lessons in the original building, so I assume it'll all be ready for October! That was my plan too, get fit walking back adn forth from lectures!! Oh well I guess we still have a hill to climb so we will get sort of fit!

I have no idea when we are supposed to arrive. Isn't it the saturday before the thursday of the start of term? Or did I just pull that out of nowhere?
Lol, you're incredibly lazy guys ! Don't you have any stairs at school ? Mine if full of, and I think I lose about 0.5kg/day by going upstairs/downstairs all day long, lol.
Once I've trekked Nepal and Nunavut I'll start lecturing other people on fitness.
Loool ^^
(I hate trekking though)
Still nothing

I'm going to stay up until midnight UK time (so 1am here) tomorrow just to see if they work late to meet the 31st deadline

Cos i'm cool and you know it
HAHA !
Good luck ^^

So how big is this hill..... Everyone makes it out to be some huge feat to climb but I didn't think England was all that hilly! I'm wondering if what I consider a hill is actually like a mountain for an English person :p:
Loool, it's like that Cardiac Hill at Exeter Uni (what a name XD), but well, I don't wanna try though, lol.
A *very little* part of my "hilly" school ^^

You would think is the fitness forum what with all the hills, mountains, trekking and what not. I just learnt that the Law department is building lecture halls and relocating the library from the Palace Green to the science site. :frown:

I actually wanted to walk. Odd person I am. And the whole idea of you know studying close to all those cobbled streets and old buildings was very appealing to me. But it'll probably won't be ready by October. So hopefully, I get a year of history and heritage before moving off to the science site.
^ Is that your school???

Its gorgeous!

My old school in the UK was quite pretty, part of it was an old english manor house.

My current school looks like a prison.

Feels like it too

Wow it sounds like everyone's moving to the science site... I must admit that I quite liked the idea of having to walk amongst the old bit of Durham to get to lectures too, but oh well, at least any early morning lectures will be easi(er) to attend!

It is indeed, lol. We have a huuuuuuge park near the school, with places where you can rest (so great in summer, lol, with roses smell and sun's warm !). But it is a bit too big and there are too much stairs imo, lol...

Your school is purrdddy. My school was this salmon monstrosity.

And true KiwiBaby. I guess I won't have to get up so early for 9am lectures when they relocate. But still... sigh.
Oh yeh guys, when i went out last night as i walked past the pond along my road - there were ducks on it!!!!

All the Swiss people must of thought i'd gone mad cos i stood there laughing for ages! It made me think of Durham!!

I want to hear from them. Durham, not the ducks.

But the man sorting the Fee Status thing is out of the office until April 2nd so i guess unless someone else does it, i wont be hearing until after the 2nd!
Let's go for the totally random existential question of the day :
"What sound ducks do ?"

In France, they do "coin-coin".
