Sorry to Admonitor, though just remember that Durham reject people for the most trivial reasons; they really should interview for History. Slightly scary they're making decisions about History already...

Kind of. I'm not overly confident about Cambridge so I thought Durham would be my best "real" option. Oh well...that's life.

I know what you mean-I've applied to Oxford too and I really think I have poo all chance of getting in. Never mind! It's all on the others... I'd love to go to Durham though. Trevelyan all the way! :biggrin:

as you're applying to cambridge you must be really clever. i'm worrying i wont get an offer now too! eep
Not yet, no. I emailed them asking them whether there was a problem with my application or whether I just wasn't up to the standard they were looking for. If I find out why I'll be sure to pass it on.

It does seem odd to be so quick to reply seeing as I've heard of no-one else being rejected. Don't worry about your application, I'm sure it'll be fine!

Hmm I don't get why I haven't heard back from them yet - from my earlier calculation I should already have heard they got it back at least.. Maybe it's different applying post alevels? Rather annoying that.

Bad luck for the unsuccess too - though I wouldn't hold out on finding out why. I asked Warwick last year what was wrong with my application and they never said hmm (whilst LSE, after in my email I pretended like I really wanted to go there and what could I change about my application if I did, and they said my gcses weren't good enough - then again, I probably said this to warwick to).

I'm really sorry to hear about the unsuccesful application Admonitor. It's a real shame. Your other universities are just as amazing, so you have no need to worry just because Durham is being temperamental. Well done on your York offer.
And so it begins...
finally got acknowledgement of my application. Now starts the real waiting game.:frown:
