I know hun, but just ignore him, its not worth it. He's probably just jealous, because his "friend" didnt get in.

Its not worth arguing with him anymore, lets just ignore him and hope he goes away.

I did yeah, March 18th one I think? The big hall reminds me of my old primary school so I should feel right at home! I also liked the 'Kwik-E-Mart' sign on the college shop :biggrin:

When did you hear?

And please excuse the ignorance (its late here - that can be my excuse).... which subject are you doing? CS sounds far to much like CAS to me, which as an IB student makes me want to scream!

Sorry for all the questions (final one i promise), if you went to the open day, did you get to see/hear much about the other departments or colleges?

Living over here i havent been able to get to any of the open days so appreciate any info i can get!

I'm actually considering reapplying to do a different subject if i dont get in for law, but lets hope it doesnt come to that!

STOP POSTING OFF FLIPPING TOPIC!!

I'd quite like for there still to be a place for me to ask sensible applicant questions, should I have any.

I'm going to have to organise my own open day at some point, since I got my offer after the March open days. Does anyone know if the colleges are likely to clump the applicants together so there are lots of us going up on the same day? I could solve this by ringing up and booking, but I thought I'd test the water first.

Ask a current student works well. Btw you can visit over the summer, just ring up the college and arrange if needs be.

But most applicants are thick - most stuff is online or in the prospectus and why can't you ask questions?! Are we stopping you?

I suspect you may have to arrange it all yourself.
Feel free to contact me when you're coming up and I (and Jurisprude I suspect) can show you round :smile:
The uni has general open days with campus tours I think on Wednesday afternoons, and I think you'll have to contact the department to be shown round.
If (and its a big if) i get accepted i might consider doing the same thing and going over for my own open day (just because i can!) although i wont have much time between finishing exams, going to malaga, starting work and having to make my decision.

Although if i get into a college that isnt Butler i'm not sure what i'll do.

I'm rambling. I should probably go to bed.

Taemon, i think i saw the website said you can contact them to arrange a visit or i could be wrong. My bf contacted Salford and Huddersfield and they let him go and visit, so i cant see why Durham wouldnt!

Yeah it was great seeing everything! I didn't stay over the night before as I had work that I couldn't escape from :frown: I spoke with a few others on the open day and it sounds like I missed out!

I just checked my letter and I got a response 2 days after my interview waaay back on February 14th! I've known for a couple of weeks that I want to go to Durham but I've been reluctant to actually make a real decision!

Thats okay I had no idea what IB was until I started reading this site :p: CS is Computer Science (I'm actually not nerdy, honest!)

Can't really help here, I didn't hear anything about the other departments really and about the same for the other colleges (only to avoid Hatfield :p:) The other hill colleges looked really good from what I saw, the cheerleaders at Van Mildert were certainly different. Good luck!

Nah if you phone up late summer the JCR president can show you around if needs be. I know someone who did just that.
Aha, another techy! That is handy to know (my boyfriend recently tried to murder my laptop.... long story).

As soon as i get an offer from Durham i'll firm it right away (so that they cant change their mind!!!!)

Thanks for the info tho..... the cheerleaders sound.... interesting!
