Got my acknowledgment letter yesterday, they said they received my application on the 8th. So didn't take as long as I thought they would! Now just got to wait for an offer.. or rejection :frown:

Does anyone know if they are doing interviews for education studies applicants this year?

They've had mine for ages and its still not moved onto the college. ¬¬ Anyone who got offers last year know how long till it moves on before you pretty much know you haven't got an offer?

Wow three applications to Grey! Do you need to check three AES pages or what? And, just out of curiosity, is PPE your prefered course? I applied last year but don't recall checking the AES as it all seemed rather 'extra' and pointless etc when you're going to hear from ucas track in the end.

It is entirely random. Just depends where your application happens to have landed in the pile. If you haven't heard by March that doesn't necessarily mean you won't get an offer. Just try to be patient. :smile:

Yes, PPE is my chosen course. I'm seriously seriously seriously desperate to go to Durham and study that. When I heard of the course originally I knew it was for me, and then when I visited Durham (I know this sounds stupid too) but I knew I had to go there too.

I got rejected from LSE today, but I don't care, Durham and PPE and I'm a happy boy. The other 2 courses really are just kind of a safety net just in case, and tbh, if I don't get PPE at Durham I may just apply another year.

And Grey? Well it has a gym. And it looked cool when I visited :smile:

Community spirit and all that.

And no, just one AES page :biggrin:

They recieved my app 3rd October, but I'm not planning on worrying myself. Where's your first choice?

Well I don't really have anything else to compare it to, but I can safely say it was not a bad decision. I have really enjoyed my time here.

Just got rejected from Durham for History...damn! Quite depressing, especially since I have met their requirements...but then again, who hasn't? Does anybody know if Open applications are more likely to be rejected???

Open applications have the same chance as any college application. So you can't blame that, sorry.

You can comfort yourself with the knowledge that History is ridiculously competitive here, and many people rejected from durham go on to get really good offers from other places.

I got 2 Durham letters in the post today... I was really scared opening them :smile:

One was the acknowledgement letter and one was about something else unrelated :smile:

It just scared me having 2 :smile:

I want an offer now :smile:

Durham really is the only place I'd like to go :frown:

Where's your first choice?

First choice is Oxford for PPE I'm afraid, but I'm not feeling great about my chances - have just had my tonsils out so will be in bed for 2 weeks which handily takes me right upto prospective interview time :s-smilie:

Don't think I'll be in the best of shape.

Then after that I'm not sure, either Durham, Warwick or York. See I got an offer from Durham last year and ended up quite wanting to go there (that said, UCL didn't get back to me untill June and I'd given up hope - whilst grown resentful towards them.. you know how people get hyped about going to one place?) though decided I didn't want to do Law etc etc. When I reapplied it was my second choice after the Ox, however being on the forums here it seems Warwick has the best politics and economics reputation whilst York has the best course structure and there have been rumours that the Durham course is a little dodgey :eek:

. Second thing that puts me off is that their standard offers are just AAB, and I didn't apply for any courses with that offer last year so I'll feel like i'm downgrading, if that makes any sense?
