:frown: Poor you. Sorry to hear that. I ended up sending them a letter to confirm exactly why they did as it was like getting blood from a stone.

Best of luck with all your other choices, I'm sure you'll be fine.

ah interesting. did you get a reply?
thanks, just keeping my fingers crossed for Bristol or KCL now
good luck with your others as well

Heads up for English applicants.

My friend just got in with NO A*'s 5 A's and a bunch of B's. 38 predicted at IB.

 I really dont know where these A* myths come from. Piffuit.

Well done to him/ her! This is a very stupid question since your location is France, but is your friend an international applicant?
kates:)

Not yet :p: . I'm expecting them to take their time.. and even then, I'm not expecting much from them anyway.

Someone I know at KCL loves it there and it has a great reputation for History. Thanks too

My first offer, from my (almost) top choice! Yay Durham!

Natural Sciences (AAA) from Hatfield

Congratulations to everyone who received an offer so far! Good luck to everyone still waiting

Congrats!

As others said, I also do not believe my LNAT did well.
It's hard to know how you do with the Lnat tbh - I felt like I'd done terribly and given that it's out of 30 I suppose I have good reason to feel this way with a score of 21. 60% is a C in A level terms and you're likely to feel it wasn't great accordingly. Hang in there though, my essay was rubbish and Durham still gave me an offer - so maybe they put higher priorities on the multiple choice and you can stop worrying about the essay

Also, my offer last year was AAB which seemed to suprise a lot of people at the sample lecture at the open day (for people with offers in April, whatever it is) who presumed I was some 'wonderkid' genius or something. I'm not sure if this was my lnat (which I still feel 21 was alright to th average of 16 or 18 or something) but talked to someone on yougo with the same thing.

Thanks for the info.

21 is very nice according to me.

I felt like it was very hard, but the real problem with me was the time, so I had to chance on a couple of texts.

Also, my essay did feel quite plain.. nothing special if you know what I mean.

You withdrew your application :O.

You really found "your subject" I see. Good Luck with your application this year!
Time has definately been a problem for loads of people, which is what makes it such a challenge! Both last years Lnat and this years PPE test (think it's called eplat or something silly) were the same for me.

I distinctly recall marking a number or sections (lnat) I wanted to come back to because I wasn't sure and thought I should look at freshly, but even cutting short and pushing onwards I was seriously low on time on the last few and didn't make the best decisions. This year (ppe) I was even more pressed for time -there's more questions and it's a mix of the omre lnat comprehensive and mathsy logical questions- and had to rushh to the end of the questions :s

If it makes you feel any better about the essay, for lnat I started to plan one then decided to write another essay and spent 10 minutes writing and rewriting the introduction.. The ploblems of computer based tests! So I had only done a smaall amount and had like 10 minutes left or something and just started rambling on about nothing. Then the counter was going down and I was in the middle of a word when the time cut me short and I felt physically sick coming out - I'd just ruined my chances of Law at some of the top unis.. To top it off, I was writing about education and realised that admissions tutors would be faced with this piece of junk that effectively said tv is a better learning tool than teachers O_O

Haha, and they let me slip through the system - you could do just as well

I've applied for English Literature at University College.
Am having to rely completely on my personal statement, which is terrifying!

Ooooh good luck fellow English applicant!

I know how you feel; everytime i re-read my Personal Statement i further convince myself it is a load of absolute rubbish.
I don't think anyone thinks their personal statement is brilliant, haha. Last year I thought mine was horrible -- from what I remember it went something like "I like to read and write and learn and I am really smart and adaptable hur hur hur" -- but I still managed to get an offer.

Good luck to all you English applicants.

I should probably add myself to the list -

Subject: Philosophy and Theology
College: Castle

Hi again! :P I was here last year with the '07 Durham applicants but unfortunately got rejected. :frown: Anyway, pleased to see others going through the torture of waiting for results again too. I've applied this time to University College as I think the least they can do after the insult of a rejection last time is let me live in their ruddy castle.

lol, best of luck, everyone.
Woo, a theological person! It is the awesomest department in the university, rest assured
Course: Chemistry
College: St Aidan's

Woo  My application apparently has been received by a college according to the AES.

Okay, haha. That's really funny. I kinda hope they won't take a look on my essay, as some universities feel that they do not have the time for it..

I was really stressed under the essay part, but managed to shoot some arguments anyhow. Though, I did not leave enough time for grammar / spell check which will be embarrasing if they care to read the whole essay.
Since I had to chance on a lot of questions, the chance that they even will consider the application (heard 20 is cut-off score) isn't too big.

I'm really hoping for SOAS to give me an offer now, since I feel bad about the LNAT. Otherwise I might go to Leicester (think I can meet their offer) or re-apply next year.

Couldxbe

The procedure for law admission is that first, the Department chooses whether to give you an offer or not, and then, pass your application further to your college.

If you were applying for Law you would therefore have an offer, but I'm not sure it's the same for chemistry.
But, I would like to say, unofficially, congratulations!

I've just been on the durham tracker thing for the first time {never realised it existed!}

My status said my application has been sent to a college!!!

Goood Luck to everyone else x

No AES tracker thingie.

NOTHING.

What is going on?

You're in India, it'll take a while. I applied on about the 12th of October last year, and received an AES track letter at the beginning of November. Patience, my friend. I know it's difficult, but if you are accepted or rejected it'll show up on UCAS track/=.
