Oooh we might be studying together next year. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
Doubt I'm one of the first though. I really hope track is not telling fibs. :frown:
Good luck

There is a flowchart about the admissions process somewhere, and once your offer is sent to the college you chose and the 2nd one your admin tutor chose, even if they reject you "if the department still wishes to issue offer" the dean finds you a place.

So... I think those who thought durham track lied last year, I guess their departments changed their minds after the colleges did not want them!

Good luck

ok...going on the idea that this 7 A* business is true for history... what is the stats for language students, as i want to do french and history, and have 6 A*'s?????
These posts about A*'s really are rather depressing you see!
I don't think you'll have a problem with 6 A*'s lol seeing as one of my best mates went to Oxford to do chemistry with 6 A*'s...stop worrying and do some bloody work  (says he who can't remove himself from track hehe).

I'd just like to point out one of the steps on the flowchart:

Data fed into BANANA

....not sure I trust the Durham method of selecting applicants!

I've always trusted the judgement of fruit actually.

Oh yeah. Hope you english applicants gets your offers.
As a law applicant I'm not too optimistic about Durham with it's high LNAT cut-off score and now questioning myself why I applied to this university.

What do you intend to do with a english degree? Any thoughts?
Is English the way to go if you want to write, as an author, ? Just curious..

I plan to do a Law conversion and then work on copyright law in a publishing house. But might just scrap the Law part and just try and work my way up a publishing company.
And I don't suppose English as a degree equips you any better than any other subject for being an author. Although there is most likely a link between those who enjoy reading and those who enjoy creative writing.

And be optimistic. I thought I'd be rejected instantly both last year and this year, but I've been lucky. If you did your best in the LNAT then just sit back and wait, tis all any of us can do now... Eek!
hardcore bhoy
Got an offer of ABB for Anthropology at Van Mildert

that's the course i've applied for and i want to go there more than anything!! ekkk must mean that offers are starting (and rejections too :s-smilie: )

well done!!!

eeeek - congrats reblet. it makes me both ridiculously happy and excrutiatingly jealous that you have got the offer for the subject and college that i've applied to pfffft. you totally deserve it.
Reply 634
Well not necessarily an offer... it could be a glitch. And not necessarily the college, I could get a different college if University doesn't want me.

And you have a Cambridge interview to excel at plus I'm sure Durham will get to your application soon. My surname is fairly early on - maybe that's why I've been sorted?

Have there been any offers for English this year yet? I want to be sure mine isn't a glitch... :frown:

Ah ok. Sounds like a good idea, whether with or without the law course. I've gotten this view since Tolkien studied English (among other areas) at Oxford.

Yeah, so true. So hard to lay your mind off though, and I keep checking track / AES multiple times a day.

Good Luck with your offers.

Your application has been received by a College
A decision has not yet been made. Please visit the UCAS website for further details

*prays and wishes and hopes and begs there not to be a glitch on the system*

Please Durham please... I suppose I'll just have to wait... Ho hum...

Hot chocolate for all!

Congratulations!!! Hopefully there isn't a glitch for you! Yeah I've applied to Castle for English too, although nothing seems to be happening at the moment. Maybe it's because I'm not post-A level, not because they hate me or anything! :s-smilie: Congrats once again and good luck with the college choice!

Thanks. I love Castle so much, my best friends are there and I really would love to go... But I won't get my hopes up.
