Applied to JB for Zoology in October, still haven't heard anything back accept an acknowledgement of the offer. I don't have a chance in hell anyway but its nice to just get all the offers or rejections back and know where u stand!

God, check out the number of English applications to Castle!

Not feeling very confident now :frown:
^^^Don't worry about it, you application is handled by the dept. so if they accept you then you will 99% likely get an offer. Castle will take you if there is room but if not you will be put somewhere else.
Yeah why dont people get that? There should be a sticky made about this!!

Hey guys not applied , but i have a question in the interest of a friend , was wondering if some nice person could help me out. My friend has a offer from the Geography dept at Durham but is cagey about celebrating because he is slightly confused as to the status of his application. Like i said he has an offer from the geo dept. but no offer from a college(St. Mary's) , now does this mean he simply might not be allocated to his favourite college but that he will get A college and has a place or is he "half way in" , whats the deal? :s

Thanks hoping mad, gd news, how does that work though? , whats the 1% scenario etc.
Well there is a VERY VERY small possibility (as in virtually unheard of) that no college will have room for him and therefore he could still be rejected. For all intents and purposes though, he has an offer. Give him my congrats
Arya, does your friend know he has an offer because of Durham track saying his application has been sent to a college, or because UCAS track has updated?

If UCAS track says he has an offer he can check the campus code to see what college he's at.

There is also a possiblity that the AES is wrong. Dont count your chickens until they have hatched.

Good point. To summarise: he most likely will receive an offer but don't go popping the champagne until it comes through on UCAS Track

Thanks guys, you've been really helpful , and yes I will pass on your congrats , thanks  but also tell him just just to "make sure". (AES? whats this)
AES is the Durham Applicant Enquiry Service. Its like UCAS track but just for Durham. Its rubbish

Nowhere in the post did Arya say it was Durham track -- the friend could have gotten a letter in the post or something. There have been a few people who didn't know how to tell what college they were at from UCAS track so I thought it was a reasonable question.

Congrats to your friend, Arya.
