Rave! What's the standard Durham offer for English and MFL? Will it be your insurance?

Castle was full last year when I got in in January time for English & History. But if you get an offer, you just don't care which college! I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
5kuzgib, last year for CompSci there were still places at Castle in March! haha. You should be alright...

Bloody comscis. Cuh  haha.
So who else is an English Castle person for whom Durham is top choice?!
Well I'm an English person who wouldn't mind living in a castle :P (I put in an open app) and Durham is my top choice now.

(Did you hear that Durham, now GIMME A BLOODY OFFER!)

I can only do it through Combined Honours in Arts degree :frown: as they for some reason don't offer an English & MFL degree, to my bafflement... it's a popular degree.
I'm guessing that's why they've said they don't grade the combined honours in arts or combined honours in social studies degrees until Jan... because it can encompass so many different things.

The standard offer is AAB I think, so it might have to be my insurance - other option would be warwick... although warwick is better for languages and better overall... I'd pick castle!!!!!
but if I don't get into castle, I don't think I'll pick it as an insurance... I'd rather my place go to someone for whom it'd be first choice

I'm still waiting for a response from Durham. I'm at the college stage but I'm really starting to worry because everyone seems to be getting their offers. Should I have heard by now? Could anyone tell me how they got their offer- was it in the mail or did you have to check online first?? I'm hoping it's taking longer because I put in an open application.

It should come through soon, wait for UCAS to change. And be patient.
Hopping Mad Kangaroo,
Just out of curiosity, what is St. Aiden's like?
Is it far from the centre of Durham?
Best/Worst aspects?
Thanx

Pretty good, and we are king of the hill :p:

It takes about 20 mins to walk down there. Not too far I guess.

Best/Worst aspects?

We have a pretty good college atmosphere, its certainly a friendly college. The rooms are pretty nice, we all get mini fridges and the like in them. The downside is we are quite a walk from the clubs in town.

Really, its a lot better if you go up to an open day if you want to judge the place.
