Cheers. I'm sure some people find it really easy, but alas I am not one of those lucky people!
Best of luck with your application. I got in despite my dubious "pending" in History A-level. haha. And I didn't have great ASs or amazing GCSEs... Actually I have no idea why they wanted me...
But yes, good luck to all possible future Durhamites for any January modules!!!

I do still worry that there might be a slight social divide e.g. private vs. state.

well don't because there isn't one. My house in second year was 5:4 state:tongue:rivate and we got on great (most of the time).

The state private thing is like college rivalries, after everyone is here for a couple of weeks no one cares.

I have never understood this fear of the divide. If anybody doesn't want to integrate on freshers' week then they will be very alone. There won't be a West Side Story style gang fight between the Private and the State educated. If you don't know lots of people from lots of different cultural and social backgrounds now then you sure will at uni. And that's why uni people are great. I can't imagine being stuck only meeting the same sort of people for the rest of my life... I think I'd eat my own eyes.

OK, that image is incredibly amusing. Especially set in Durham.

Just got an offer for Economics with French!! AAB including Economics and French. I got a load of info from St Cuth's so took me a while to find the actual offer letter - quite a shock when I found it lol!

I would die happy if such a scene took place on Palace Green. haha.

yep me! haven't heard from durham yet.. the only one i am waiting for. My GCSEs were pretty average too but my AS results were really good so hopefully that will weigh it out! good luck x
It makes far more sense to ask a simple question (again) rather than scanning through 58 pages of old posts to find what you're looking for. The faded ink joke is pretty old. It's also quite patronising. I ended up getting an offer for Law so I hope you Durham types are friendlier in person.

The historian in me deduces that Durham does not look for a sense of humour in its law applicants...

No ink here...

It makes sense to you, but the rest of us dont like rewriting our responses out again. Use the search button first before asking!
Fair point. I should lighten up.

I'd agree, if there wasn't a search option...

I want an offer . I know I applied very last minute but still, it feels like I've been waiting forever! It would be fantabulous if I heard from them on my birthday (wed). I doubt it, though.

Congrats Builttoboulder .

Don't worry. And enjoy your birthday whatever happens, you don't want a Durham decision to steal your birthday's thunder  haha.
