Maybe that's why Durham keeps folk waiting? The morons withdraw after a few months. A cunning plan...
Nah, I just suspect its the admissions tutors being apathetic. The morons shouldnt get offers anyway, not ones that they can meet. Oxbridge use that trick, to bump up their state school percentages.
Isn't even toying around with the idea of withdrawing an application pretty ridiculous? I mean come on at the most it is two months. If I was in that position I would much rather want to know whether or not I got in. Withdrawing shouldn't be an option.
It depends. If either Newcastle or Edinburgh were the ones I was waiting for, then I would have cancelled my applications to them. As it happened, Edinburgh, Durham and Newcastle decided almost immediately.
I reckon they're playing a game: Who rejects or withdraws from the app. first. People who don't need the offer should withdraw. Maybe we should encourage them?

It doesnt make a difference, Durham know if they make X offers for a course, Y people will accept it, and of those Y people, Z will get the grades.

Why not? Let's egg them on. We don't need people who don't want to be there or are just waiting for a place that they won't even take or even use as insurance. This white font is highly addictive.
Fun isn't it? I agree. Let's find the people who really want to go to Durham and encourage and support them and then find the folk who don't really want the offer anyway and bully them... Well, maybe not bully...

I doubt Durham will make any extra offers unless loads of people did that.

Most of these people are going for **** courses anyway. It doesnt really matter.

It is. Highly. Well not bully... but friendly coercion. Or is that a one way ticket to being kicked out of TSR?
We can control them HMK! Believe in our TSR power! haha.
Anyone going for Criminology should be strongly discouraged, after the chavs that were considering doing it showed up on the open day, and asked me "are you clever". Erm, yes, that might be why I was applying to Durham.... :
Nah, just nod enthusiastically when people act like a child and go "I can't possibly wait a few more weeks, I'm going to withdraw!"
Such simple gestures with great results. I can muster enough fake sympathy.
Hopping Mad Kangaroo

Lol. I want to not believe in that, however the possibility of such travesty occuring is high.
They do have some sort of chav screening process for the law department right? Well generic hybrid I guess running into the English department for refuge is not an option anymore.
