Durham Applicants 2008 Thread

It is quite hard to sound tactful online.

And I believe 'ratty' would be moaning incessantly without reason that Durham hasn't made your application number one priority, just so that you can put it as your insurance - This is evidently not my domain.

If you dont stop whining, then I am going to email a link to this thread to the admissions tutor and you can have a swift rejection if you like.

Now that's just unkind

Piss off this thread if you're just going to annoy potential applicants, after all, the point of this thread is for applicants to discuss the process.

There's no need for you to post in this thread, all you seem to do is complain that others are posting. Just don't bloody read it if it's so annoying, ******

What annoys me is that they haven't looked at any (seemingly) for my course yet, which is unfair.

This is the applicant's thread, so, although I obviously do not own it, it is designed for me and my fellow applicants to share and discuss the experience of applying.

Of course it's great if current students pass on information, but that does not mean you need to whine each and every time someone either asks something that has been asked before or shares a common feeling felt by applicants (i.e. nervousness).

Meaning I, and no one else (as others have done), should not complain about a single persons consistent (irrelevant) complaints, that makes no sense.

Oo cool! Nope I haven't heard anything I sent in my application only a few days before the deadline though so I'm hoping that that has something to do with it haha.

Durham is actually my first choice because I love the collegiate system. Since I come from New Zealand I think it would be best for me to be in that kind of supportive environment.. Ha cheesy much??

You know nothing about me. How can you decide what level something should or should not concern me, nor know exactly how much concern I have for it? Please do explain...

Well you do seem surprisingly irate about it, when really you dont have to look at this thread if you didnt want to. If it annoys you that much, then you dont have to read it.

Dont you think you're 'deciding' the same kind of thing by telling us on this thread that we 'whine too much'.

You dont know about our worries over the application process, our worries in the wider picture etc.

So neither can you decide on what level something (such as not hearing from durham) should concern us or not.

Back on topic, if anyone's interested, a friend of mine got a psychology offer today from Trevelyan.

There are parts of this thread I like, hence why I read it. Its some of your attitudes that annoy me.

Whining at all about an institution before you even get there is way too much. For anyone.

You dont know us. You dont know how much/how little we want to get into Durham.

Don't worry about not being able to go out LD. I came up for an open day a couple of years ago, and was too young to go out with the majority that did. But I still had a really great time and that open day ended up swaying my decision
