If anyone bothers to arrange one then I might pop along. Why don't you start a thread to gauge interest?

He seems to have lost his enthusiasm for this place...
Ooh, the combined offers begin...

I went to the meet last term, it was pretty fun. Wouldn't mind going to another but I have absolutely no organisational skills so someone else would definitely have to sort it.

I could sort it I guess, if there are no other volunteers.

Grawgr Im applying for English..I've still heard nothing but an acknowledgement...ME THINKS REJECTION IS COMING >.<

I've applied for English and heard nothing too! ME HOPES A REJECTION IS NOT COMING! Good luck though :P
I'm doing English too and still heard nothing apart from that letter everyone receieved a few weeks ago

Id like to think if not many have heard for English then the offers have not been made so you're as likely to get an off or rejection as you did when you sent your application off so not getting why many are saying theyre gonna get rejected. No news is good news.....

yer ive applied to do english lit and history of art. I agree that if a load of offers dont come out then it doesnt mean anything. Its a long time to wait though. Plus if you find yourself waiting after a load of offers have come out, then it may be a rejection. This happened to me last year , i waited untill the end of feb/early march to be rejected.
Anyway good luck everybody, hopefully some offers will come out this week!
Thanks, that's comforting. I've heard of a couple of people who have offers for English already, but it's good to hear that the majority (or, at least, quite a large number) of applicants haven't heard yet

I'm also kidding myself that, with a surname beginning with 'W', I might be one of the last to know ... but chances are they don't go through applications alphabetically.

Anyhoo,
Good luck all!

I haven't seen many decisions over English really. It's all in dribs and drabs it seems... Best of luck to you all!
Hahaha if that was the case, me with the surname B would've heard tiiiime ago. I wouldnt worry myself about it, whats done is done and if not meant to be its not meant to be. I know so much easier said than done but if your genuinely a good candidate then itll be their loss and remember that with motivation and capability, you can go anywhere in life...cream always rises to the top...
Stupid question, but do you know if there are many people applying for Russian and/or Arabic ? I hope they'll need people to fill their departments XD.

How about Maths? Has there been many offers/rejections made?
Anyone know why it takes so much longer than all other Uni's aswell?

I'm applying for English too, and of my 3 friends also applying for the same subject (luckily not all from the same college), 1 has an offer, 1 has a rejection and 1 is still waiting.

I emailed to find out if we'll know before the open day in March, and this is the reply I got:

"Thank you for your enquiry. We are still in the process of grading the UCAS forms, and it is correct that you may not hear into March. However, you are welcome to look round the University at any time and visit the department. The talk on the 19th March is for prospective students considering applying for Durham. If you do receive a place, you will be invited to a post-applicant talk."

I'm not sure if I'm comforted or not!

Aaaargh, this is killing me. The post-ap day for Edinburgh is on the 19th and if the one for Durham is on the 18th, it would be so easy for me to just pop over to Newcastle on the way up...

Hurry up and tell me either way! I need to book plane tickets! :frown:

^ are those post app. open days just for your subject or for everyone? Also how do you know them?

Yeah I know!
I always knew Durham was a long shot and was anticipating a rejection, even though I already have the A-Level grades etc., but it still sucks to see an unsuccessful scrawled across Track! :frown:
Oh well, you win some you lose some! At least St Andrew's is unconditional and I don't have any conditions to worry about meeting!
