Or are suffering because they hate their room mate but are too polite to say anything...

On a non related matter what so ever, where in Hertfordshire are you from?

Eek! I am terribly panicked now about all this discussion on which college to change to from Trevs! I am fully relying on Trevs being the Best College Ever. Don't do this to me!

Maybe if we say Dobbs's name three times he'll appear and restore your faith in Trevs.

Well it depends on your personality; it might well suit you!

I stayed afew weeks ago for an open day and liked it

The corridors were abit weird, but everything else was really good  The room I was in was abit odd too, but it'd be fine with afew pics on the wall

And the best bits: Amazing bar , really good food (is it the serve yourself extras and collect the main course every day?), and the people were really nice

If I get my 3 A's I'll be there in September

Why don't we just try to calm it down here.

Stop digging at HMK for no reason. Your mate didn't get in, as has been said, it's because an admissions tutor (who btw is a damn good guy) didn't think he was good enough. He could have A*s flying out his backside all day, but something told the tutor that he didn't cut the mustard. It's a simple as.

I'm eternally sorry that you've lost faith in Durham, but I'm sure it'll get over it. Just don't tell the Times, that'll bol**cks our rankings!

BTW make your argument consistent!

You couldn't put a good word in for me could ya? Hehe.

meh, its not as if there is much difference between these places is it. Its all just countryside and inbreeding.
I wonder if any current physics students would be able to describe to me what the course is like at durham in terms of teaching, choice of modules, facilities etc.

1st year is largely appauling, most of the lecturers are dire, though the maths modules all have amazing lecturers. You have a choice of one module, from any department, and can also choose the difficulty of the maths modules you do. The only good thing in the 1st year physics modules itself is the tutoring you get, which helps make up for the lecturing. After that, I understand that it gets a lot better.

Ooh good! Yeah, it sounds like the corridors are odd but also like they sort of lend themselves to socialising more easily? I think all rooms look odd without any decoration and loads better once you've got photos and posters and random things up! I used to go to boarding school and it's strange how you see rooms being completely gutted of any character when you move out.

Ooh, I'm glad about the food! What sort of stuff was there? And obviously good bar, nice people, that adds up.

What're you planning on studying?

@mhsc: Hey, are you really sure you don't want to go to Trevs?

For tea there was pork (or veggie burgers) and then a help yourself vegetables/chip like things/ salad and other things  And yoghurts and fruit and cake

And for breakfast there was boiled eggs, toast, croissants and fruit

I'm slightly mad and I want to do physics  How about you?

I did a revision course at St Georges in Harpenden. Nice area - but strange strange strange students.

And to whoever asked... no I don't particularly want to go to Trevs :p:, Mildert sounds much more up my street! Wish I had researched it properly, but I was in a hurry to send off my damn applications :p:

Mildert does sound good. But I wonder how often they clean that lake. I mean if not done on a regular basis that thing can become quite rank.

And since we're talking about colleges, I thought I'll harp on mine. Collingwood all the way!

I concur with the madness diagnosis! I thought you might be when you said you'd been up for interview. I'm doing English.

Food sounds fine! Scorey score. I'm embarrassingly picky, but pork and cake and eggs...tis good
