why am i always colder than everyone else?

I have to wear about three tops, a scarf and jeans if it's 24 degrees and i'm sat still.. When i'm doing things obviously I warm up and i'm ok, but I don't understand why when i'm doing exactly the same as someone else, for example my younger sister and they're fine wearing a t-shirt for ages but I need to put on quite a few layers.

It's not just in my head because if I touch people they say how cold I am. I don't understand, I'm 19, my b.p is the low end of normal, I can't have that bad circulation?? My mum thinks it's a hormonal problem?

Anyone got any ideas?

you've got bad circulation from the sounds of things, raise your cardio to improve it

:itsme: I'm always colder than everyone else too! Like when it's just under 20 degrees C and everyone around me is in T-shirts and one layer things and aren't cold, whilst I'm sitting there all huddled up in 4-5 layers, absolutely freezing! And sometimes, I'll think that my temperature is on the low end of normal for me, but then I touch someone else and realise that I'm actually cold.:s-smilie: I'm not sure about my blood pressure though I think the dr said it was fine last time I had it checked.:s-smilie: My parents call it/say that I have really bad circulation though so maybe you have low circulation too? I'm not sure about whether it could be hormonal...mabe? Hope not.

It could be releated to your weight? I think body heat often is, and I know that when I was underweight (very) I was freezing 24/7. There's also a certain condition, the name of which I forget right now, that affects circulation, but the one I'm thinking of only affects the extremities so I don't know how relevant it is to you. Maybe go and see your GP? Even if it turns out to be nothing, they'll have more ideas and be more informed:-)

Yeah maybe but I'm not that underweight! HA, the dr just thought it was funny haha and nothing much to worry about, but then again my doctors are crap and don't even worry about me if I have something that requires hospital atention. *End of rant*.

same, i'm not technically underweight, my BMI is 20, so i'm fine..

it's really annoying, how're you meant to look good in loads of layers?!!! & I mean I do some exercise, not lots but about average I guess. I dont understand how my circulation can suck so much! :frown: (unless its hormonal, hmm)

I have this too, my hands and feet are always chilly. No one else seems to feel it and they complain when I turn up the heating :s-smilie:

I know, it's so annoying! I like my body size but when I have so many layers on, it makes me look bigger, which stinks. And I wear different things under the same couple of jumpers/coat on top, but no-one knows that and just thinks that I always wear the same clothes day in day out, because they can never see them! I'm wearing about 4 layers on average atm but come winter and I'll be wearing 7 layers on average.

Jah, well my BMI is in the underweight section but that's just how I am and I'm healthy so that point doesn't bother me that much.:p:

Because you're NESH! Some people just feel the cold much more than others. It does sound like a circulation problem though - is it mainly your extremities that go cold? If so maybe it could be Raynaud's or something similar?

maybe all you people who are cold should get together, then you could put the heating up and all be happy.

What does NESH mean?^o)

 If you're nesh it means you feel the cold much more than everyone else, you're more sensitive to the cold and are always chilly even if it's warm! It's a Midlands/Northern term, but it's a word everybody should start using methinks!

no.

and it isn't just my extremities, i get cold all over, though I suppose my extremities might be a bit more affected.

My hands and feet are always freezing no matter what the weather, i'm used to it, but i don't always feel cold though. If it's 20 + then i would normally just wear a t shirt. I'm not sure why it is, maybe it's partly because i'm extremely underweight and have bad circulation.

Well as my nan always says - "Cold hands; warm heart"
Hope that helps.

If case anyone else need words of wisdom she also says:
"No, means no in every country "
"If you can't be good then be safe"
