I've been in education for eleven years now, from when I was four up until now, and it feels like it's all I've ever known. It used to be fine, I had friends and I enjoyed what I did. I had nothing to worry about until secondary school really.

But now I feel so trapped. I'm never happy, I don't have much in my life I can enjoy and I have to get up at the crack of dawn every day to trudge off to school and sit around doing everything I hate. And when I'm not in school, I'm sat alone in my room either dealing with a huge lump of homework that grows week by week or just doing nothing at all. I don't have a social life and I've become incredibly lonely and more stressed than I have ever been in my life.

This stress has caused me to take time off school and that ultimately just makes me even more stressed because then I have to catch up with loads of work and then get an additional *******ing from my angry teachers for not understanding something that I wasn't even taught because I wasn't there.

This "happy, safe working environment" is more of a depressing, stifling hellhole. And the worst part is that there is no way out. Literally no way out. By law, I have to go to school and there's only one thing I can actually do to get away from it and I don't even want to think too far into that right now.

I hate everything about the education system. Any ideas on what I could do?

Y11 I would guess. It's sad you feel like this... it's the trudge of studying but why not make an arrangement with someone at school you sit with or talk to your family if that's possible... they would hate to read this post in sure and would want to help you if they only knew.

You need to find yourself an outlet... go to the movies with a sibling or family to escape for 2-3 hrs.

Year 11 is very hard work l and once this passes, this passes.

This is your last year in school and after this you are allowed to do anything you wish.

Do you have hobbies? Talk a walk, see the movies as the above poster has stated, read a book, listen to music, have ice cream.

i dont know what its like to study GCSE's or anything as i left school before gcse's and did my exams as a external candidate, however i did find that doing a sport even once a week for an hour does help a lot with destressing as it gives you some time when your not studying and you can socialise without feeling like your wasting time or anything not studying

I feel exactly the same way. I barely have a social life I dont have whatsapp snapchat anything and I am nearly 17. I get upset sometimes but I manage to live. I have something to look forward to . So me for example I want to pursue a career in Midwifery so I want to be a midwife. I am really passionate about studying this subject for 3 years and when I think of becoming a midwife and going to university and perhaps getting married I get so happy. I get so happy it really helps me. So tell me isnt there anything u want to do in the future? Unfortunately by law u have to go to school but u should count your blessings that u have the opportunity to attend school because children living in third world countries do not have the chance to go to school and obtain a really good career. After year 11 u have the right to go to college and work aswell. But u have to remain in the eduction system until you are 18 years old. I am nearly 17 and I literally have one year left until I leave school and hopefully go university next september. You know time is passing by and it nearly april , next thing u know it will be the summer holidays! How are u doing academically? Like are u doing well in school , what grades are u currently getting?

I feel you, I'm in year nine and have been bullied all through my school life, from reception to now. I feel trapped in this **** hole called school as well, i used to enjoy some lessons but now it just feels like I'm doing the work just to get out. I'm only invested in lessons because when i get whatever GCSEs I'll finally be able to leave for good. It's an endless cycle and the weeks just seem to carry on without me, at the end of the week I'm so happy to be out, trying to ignore the fact that soon I'll have to go back. I hate it there. I hate my life. I can't be myself and sometimes i even feel like maybe it's not even worth trying to be anything. I'll probably fail in the end, but for now I'll just cry. Sorry

Hi,

You can reach out to me and message me whenever you like.

The restrictions are being relaxed, perhaps you can join a social club, club based on a hobby, meet up. Facebook group and connect with people.

Do you have any ambitions?
