I am eligible for DSA, however I'm too impatient to wait for my laptop to be assigned to me. So I wanted to research what sort of laptops I could get and pay the difference.

Does anyone know how much a 2 in 1 laptop/tablet, such as the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 would be with DSA?

Has anyone else got a Surface Pro 4 on DSA? how much did you pay?

Thanks in Advance!

DSA give you the most basic laptop for your needs, so you pay a £200 contribution and they'll reimburse you, I got £95 back when I bought my mac

Definitely pay the extra money if you can afford it. I applied for DSA last year and the laptop I was given is extremely slow and now around five years old. At the time I could not afford to put the extra money in myself so I had to pay the initial £200 and that was it. A year later and I'm looking at buying a different one (no help from DSA).

Your university will have a supplier that they use to get them from so it varies. I cannot imagine it being much cheaper as they give you a basic laptop (usually costing around £300/£350) You put £200 towards it and then they pay the rest. Since the surface pro is around £1100 you'd have to put around £700/£750 towards the cost excluding the £200 you need to pay.
