Hi everyone. For everyone who got good AS results then well dun. Im not too happy at all. Basically i was the borderline king.
    Chemistry - 3 marks of an A - 237 UMS marks
    History - 6 marks of an A - 234 - UMS marks
    Biology - 11 marks of an A - 229 - UMS marks
    Maths - A crappy C which i expected.

Cant believe the chemistry. In foundation chemistry (the easiest exam) i got 69/90 coz apparently thr whole nation did really well in that paper so my raw mark got pushed down to a B.

In history i got A's in 2 of the papers but in the Nazi Germany paper i got a C.

At first i was so angry and upset, but now wen i think bout it i know wot paper to retake in January and i seriously think that in January i will pull at least 2 of those B's up to A's. Is this the right attitude to take or shud i just accept it and say ive dun crap for myself and be stressed out? Tell me ur opinion plz

Slightly off topic but is there going to be an official AS/AS results thread so that we can see everyone's result in one special thread, rather than several?

Hi guys, hope u all got wot u wanted!

I am really surprised by my grades. They don't make sense at all. I got really good in a few and relatively badly in the others. In bio i got 65/90 for which i thought was gonna be 85 and above. And in Jan i got 99 and 98 for p1 and s1 but in these exams the marks were 94 for p2 83 for M1 and 89 for S2. I thought that maths would get me very high marks, yet a person who i chatted 2 on the day thought they done crap and they got 11 marks more than me plus i we went throught the questions on this forum after the exam and I thought i would definitely get nearly max marks. I think something has gone wrong, usually i predict my marks quite well as in jan but i feel my hard work has not achieved wot i wanted. What do u think i should do?

    AS Results

Well I had a funny day! My Economics result was the sole highest in the country so it was included on the list and accidentally read out on the radio, at which point (this being 11am, and I'm not supposed to be getting my results till 2). Anyway... I am very pleased with my results, though in general found it to be a stressful time at school as many people were not pleased with their results.

    Economics:
    Paper 1: 90/90 (raw score 50/50)
    Paper 2: 120/120 (raw score 90/90)
    Paper 3 (Coursework): 90/90 (raw score 100/100)
    TOTAL 300- A

    Biology (AQA B)
    Paper 1: 81/90
    Paper 2: 84/90
    Paper 3 + CWK: 120/120
    TOTAL 285- A

    Chemistry (AQA)
    Paper 1: 90/90 ?
    Paper 2: 83/90
    Paper 3 + CWL: 120/120
    TOTAL 293/300- A

    English (WJEC)
    Paper 1: 88/90
    Paper 2: 90/90
    Paper 3: 119/120
    TOTAL 297/300- A

Overall very pleased, and results allow me to apply for Law where I want to. Also pleased that I have managed to prove that:
    1. You can work up to 28 hours in a school week and still do well
    2. You can still go rowing and sailing 3 times a week, and every Saturday and not affect your perfomance...
    but most of all...
    3. You can do no revision in the first ten days of study leave and do well
    4. You can 100% in a subject for which I attended (through illness/common room magnetism) less than 40% of lessons, and only revised for four hours during which I: ate my Sunday dinner, rang a friend and watched the O.C.

    Mwah Mwah.

Does anyone know the grade boundaries for the Chem and Bio papers. I think paper two must've been really low!

EDIT: AQA are scum! They compeltely mucked up the marking OF ALL THE BIOLOGY AND CHEMISTRY PAPERS AT MY SCHOOL. GET IT SORTED!!!!

    My Edexcel results:

    Economics 228/300 B
    Paper 1- 48/90
    Paper 2- 75/90
    Paper 3- 105/120

    History 260/300 A
Paper 1 (Source paper, Russia in Revolution 1905-1917)- 91/120
Paper 2 (Essay paper, Fascist Italy 1917-1925)- 79/90
Paper 3 (Coursework, 1 source question + 1 essay, rise of Nazis in relation to Reichstag fire and economic problems that Weimar Republic faced)- 90/90

    Psychology 266/300 A
    Paper 1 (Cognitive, Cognitive-Developmental, Social)- 100/100
    Paper 2 (Learning/Behavioural, Psychodynamic, Biological/Physiological)- 92/100
Paper 3 (Coursework, effects of 'category headings' on aiding memory recall of word lists e.g. 'Plants' for 'trees', 'flowers')- 74/100

    Religious Studies 265/300 A
Paper 1 (Philosophy- Cosmological and Design Argument, Problem of Evil)- 88/100
Paper 2 (Ethics- Religion and Ethics, Situation Ethics, Utilitarianism, Sexual Ethics)- 90/100
Paper 3 (Coursework, how society is responsible for the creation of cults)- 87/100

Comment: As I expected, actually quite pleased that didn't screw up too much for Econ. Surprised got a high mark for RS coursework and high mark for Econ Paper 3.

But then, looking at my results retrospectively, screwed up pretty bad for Econ Paper 1 (53%...ouch). If I had revised....highly likely an A. Same with Psy cwk, although had little help for planning and draft marking.

But no need to regret anymore. Would it be good to re-sit Econ Paper 1, even though it would be highly unlikely I would carry on to A2?

You might have to fight off a bunch of international people too, but yeah, Oxbridge > HYPS.

AAAA but upset as UMS marks quite disappointing (from 255 to 285 - erk! What happened to a high Economics mark?) Also, really inconsistent in a bunch of subjects, especially Maths: 100, 96...and 71. Um, oops?

Anyway, your Econ mark is absolutely, gob-smackingly amazing. I can't convey how much I'd give for that right now.
