    Hey There,
Dont wanna get negative racist/sexist first impressions for the twisted title, but lets be real as an ambitious/ fiercely passionate/ competetive/ state- schooled /muslim /asian girl doing A levels : Mathematics, Goverment and politics, History, Economics ,EPQ with brilliant GCSEs and good profile for super curriculars -student of the year, Duke of Edinburg, Mentoring,Youth enterprise, Debating, volunteering, goes on...

what are my realistic chances of survival?

    Thanks in advance.

Might not like the environment as much as a more 'diverse' multi-cultural uni in London say, but yeah, if you got the grades and drive, why not?

Silly thread. The fact that you're Asian won't have any impact on admissions at all. Doing well on the TSA, and then the interview, is what will get you an offer. Everyone applying has good grades, extra curriculars etc, so this stuff will have only a minimal impact.

Instead of insinuating discrimative bull-crap on Oxford's part, how about actually detailing your GCSEs, as that's more important than all those ECs you've listed.

Muslims playing victim to the system once again. You have equal chance, in fact I suspect theyll like you considering that you're a minority.

Your ethnicity will not stop you getting in, but your overwhelming arrogance might.

What matters when it comes to admissions is your exam performance and most importantly, your performance in admissions tests and interview performance. Your background isn't going to make any difference whatsoever to your chances of getting in.

Given the hostility of a couple of the responses here, as well as the under-representation of some BME groups at Oxford, it's hardly surprising that you might have doubts. But Plagioclase is right - in practice, admissions make a genuine effort to discriminate on the basis of ability rather than background.
