Worst pasta dishes you've ever tasted

There have been quite a few threads about tasty pasta dishes, so I thought I'd even the balance! :p:

I love pasta but have eaten some utterly revolting dishes. Take today for instance, I had a cherry tomato and parmesan sauce by Dolmio...it smelt like vomit after being cooked and tasted as if it had already been eaten twice (not that I've experienced such "food" before, but I can imagine!)

The other day I had Loyd Grossman's pepper pasta sauce and it was vile.

And something which I dislike, which most people seem to love is red pesto! Ate once... andn ever again! I once ate a plate of it once as I was very hungry, but didn't like it. I felt sick all day and now the smell of it makes me feel sick. Ewww.

Anyway, feel free to add the pasta sauces/dishes you most dislike...:p:

I ate cheesy herby pasta with chicken at the Hard Rock Cafe in Egypt. It was gross. Okay, so it cost about £3, but Hard Rock Cafe!!! Come on!!

The only one that springs to mind is some weird, bitter/sour ready-made pasta salad I got from Tesco. In general I love all pasta
A tesco chicken and pasta dish. n short it was just disgusting.

A cheese and pasta bake thing from Morrisons. It had loads of herbs in it (which I can't stand) and the sauce was like water. Never again lol.
A couple of years ago my mother made pasta sauce with rabbit meat. As if that wasn't bad enough, she chopped them up somewhat ineptly, so the sauce was full of nasty, hard splinters and lumps of rabbit bone. It was truly vile.

I also hate all those pesto sauces that come in jars. They're greasy and rancid-tasting and are nothing like the real thing. Carbonara sauce is disgusting too.

Eugh i hate those Lloyd Grossman products. I cooked a curry for my boyfriend once using their sauce and it was so spicy you couldn't taste anything.

On the subject of pasta though, I agree about the tesco cold pasta pots, most of them taste vile. I also hate anything 'smoked' so pastas with smoked ham are a no no for me.

I have the exact opposite problem, I have to shower mine in Tabasco sauce. Unforunatey thats the problem with curry, some people like it very mild, some people hot, so its hard to compromise. I like the products personally

Its not that I like curry very mild, I just like to able to taste the flavours, which is hard to do when something is very, very hot.

In general, so do I.

I've only really tried products from the pasta sauce range but they've been yuk.

Heinz's Macaroni Cheese. It's what I would imagine Satan's vomit to smell like, and it's inedible into the bargain.

Haha!! I was about to say that. It is truly vile. Can't believe someone said Red Pesto, I love that.

Hmm, maybe it was just the red pesto that I tried! :p:

Is green pesto any nice?
I don't know if it's just the Bella Italia that I went to, but the pasta I had there was disgustingly oily - never again!

If you ever try...tageietlle? Tagiletelle? just plain, nothing on it, that is the worst pasta dish in the world. Long story short, we didnt have any sauce!

What about butter?

or olive oil! or cheese, or just random herbs :p: It's easy to tart up pasta

Any kind of premade pasta sauce renders pasta inedible for me, UNLESS it is the tomato based ones where the variation is "added herbs/garlic/onion./red wine" etc. Buying a premade lasange is also too pov for words, it would be cheaper and tastier to mix water with flour and eat that.

I love pasta, and haven't had any truly awful experiences.

However, by far the worst would be the bowl of pesto pasta served at ASK. It was so drenched with oil, it looked more like olive oil soup. I suppose the pasta bits didnt taste that bad, but oil dripping everywhere is very off putting.
