We often look back at past civilisations and pity them for their cultures, beliefs and practices which were mainstream at the time, but which we now consider backwards and primitive. These might include things like:
- Believing that monsters lived at the edges of a flat earth
- Killing women who were thought to be witches
- Treating women as the official and legal property of men

It's also apparent that there some ideas which have very recently been considered mainstream, but are perhaps on the borderline of soon being considered primitive and phased out - or at least some people are trying to make it so. These might include ideas such as:
- There are only two genders, and you don't get to choose which one you are
- A marriage is, by definition, between a man and a woman
- Belief in God

My question is this: Are there any beliefs, ideas or practices which are clearly mainstream in our culture at the moment, but which you think that future civilisations centuries from now will consider ridiculous and wonder how we ever thought such backward things?

we are still asking the question about questionable beliefs today that men have the right to beat disobedient wives, should be allowed to marry 9 year old girls, that genital mutilation is beneficial, execute gays and those that apostate, and that all of mankind evolved spontateously from a man that popped up fully grown out of the soil.

rather speculate than about opinions in the future , would be interested to hear your views on these in this day and age.

1. Why were they fighting war? Didnt they know they had to prepare for interstellar warfare?
2. Why did people marry? Everyone just fks everyone. Babies are created in this baby egg machine.
3. Why were people so fat?
4. Why did they like boobs and ass? Go feet and legs.

On point 4 btw.
Pick one if you are a guy: Boobs, Ass, Legs

If you picked boobs, you are generally dumber
If you picked ass, you are less dumb
If you picked legs, you are generally smarter
Actual true fact.

that genital mutilation is beneficial
Let's be honest, with the number of powerful Jews in USA/how institutional it is, that's likely to still be going on in any future.

They will judge us as hedonistic, unheroic, self-entitled, materialistic and pig-ignorant human beings who lived empty and uninspiring lives and chanted all sorts of guff about progress and equality, and arrogantly placed all our faith in technology.
