    quite a few of my friends and relatives who have been/are in uni claim that the whole experience is overrated. what are your experiences of it?

    It depends what you make of the situation you're in. Yes it is overrated but you can still have a good time and learn a lot of stuff. It depends what you mean by overrated.

    ...well ive have the most amazing 5 years of my life at uni...and plan on spending another 3-4 years living the student life.

    And i have met friends for life.

    I don't know anywhere else were you can work a 20 hour week and get about 200 days holiday :d

    Overrated definetly, 1st year wasn't as much fun as I expected it to be. Maybe 2nd year will be better..

    I think it's what you make it! If you go with your expectations high and are thinking it's gonna solve all your problems then you probably will be disappointed. But if you just take it as it comes and make the most of the opportunities you get I'm sure you'll come out the other side smiling
