The Student Room Group

Loan hasn't arrived, what to do from here?

I enrolled last Thursday (third year).

The process was a little confusing however, my Uni adopted a "fast track" and "express" enrolling system which you queued up in depending on your circumstances (that they'd determined beforehand by sending a form home to you).

I was in the express queue as my loan had been "confirmed" apparently and I don't need to pay any tuition fees, so enrolment was nothing more then just queuing up for 5 minutes, handing the form in, then being shunned out of the door.

They didn't ask for my payment schedule letter (which I didn't have, the SLC decided to send it to my home address one day before enrolment ) and the lady said it "would be fine".

So, I wait until my scheduled payment date; 24/9/07, today.

Nothing. In the past, my loan had arrived on the scheduled date, they're usually pretty prompt (although they were useless in my first year, that's a different story)

I just knew this would happen, what makes it worse is the fact that I've forgotten my SLC password/secret answer, the last time I went online with them was over two years ago!

Sigh! I need this money really badly as I've had to pay two months rent up front (£519) just using my student overdraft!
My loan hasn't gone in yet either!!! i have just enrolled today and the date on the letter said it would be in my account today!! last year it was fine and it all went through on the date it was supposed to, i cant even get in contact with the loans company cos the website is down and the phone is constantly engaged!!! i reallly needed the money aswell, what is there that we can do tho?

The SLC wont pay any money through until they've received confirmation from your uni that you're physically at university - regardless of what it says on your schedule.

If you enrolled today then your loan will come through tomorrow at the very earliest, more likely you'll have it by the end of the week
so why would it have done that this year and not last year?? and our tutors have told us that there is no room for us at the moment because there is an ma show on in our studios...so do i have to wait another 2 weeks to get the money?? i am sooo confused!!
I've read somewhere that you should give 3/4 working days for the money to go into your account.
Same problem with me.

Retaking my first year and the ****ty uni admin haven't bothered to register me yet (nothing to do with me, I did everything I was meant to.)

Loan was due today and I obvuiously haven't got it- desperately need the cash and I'm somewhat concerned because they're going to have to re-calculate the loan amount because of the fact that I'm only retaking half a year- I really cannot afford for this to drag on.

Yeah it really is stupid.

Thankfully my loan arrived this morning, one day late, still, I don't want scares like that again!
