Fine Art Degree... then what?

So, I'm graduating from my Fine Art Painting degree. Can people share their experiences of what they did afterwards to earn a decent wage - thinking £25k a year, in a big city ?

Although it isn't the same, my cousin studied Art at University. Afterwards, she found a part time job waitressing at a cafe and set up a website showing some of her portfolio details and what she studied. She does a lot of freelance work around England, so the pay can go up and down, but she really enjoys her work. Her work placements involve creating art programs with the council for schoolchildren, doing one off commissioned art projects, working with the Chinese cultural organisation in a nearby city to prepare art displays and workshops, teaching art evening classes, as well as Tae Kwon Do classes (she has in interest in this too).
