Increase the maximum sentences available to the court for Child Sex offences.
Be it enacted by the Queen’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and
consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present
Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:—




1 Amendment of section 7 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003
(1)Section 7 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 is amended as follows.
(2)In paragraph (b) of subsection (2), for the words “14 years” substitute “25 years”.
(3) Remove paragraph (a) of subsection (2)

2 Amendment of section 8 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003
(1)Section 8 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 is amended as follows.
(2)In paragraph (b) of subsection (3), for the words “14 years” substitute “25 years”.
(3) Remove paragraph (a) of subsection (3)

3 Amendment of section 9 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003
(1)Section 9 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 is amended as follows.
(2)In paragraph (b) of subsection (3), for the words “14 years” substitute “25 years”.
(3) Remove paragraph (a) of subsection (3)

4 Amendment of section 10 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003
(1)Section 10 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 is amended as follows.
(2)In paragraph (b) of subsection (3), for the words “14 years” substitute “25 years”.

10 Amendment of section 17 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003
(1)Section 17 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 is amended as follows.

16 Amendment of section 48 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003

18 Amendment of section 50 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003
(1)Section 50 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003 is amended as follows.

(3) Remove paragraph (a) of subsection (2)


19 Extent, commencement and citation
(1) This Act extends to England and Wales.
(2) This Act comes into force at the end of a period of 6 months beginning with the
day on which this Act is passed.
(3) This Act may be cited as the Child Sex Offences (Sentences) Act 2017.


Notes:

Child sex offences are some of the worst crimes that can happen and can destroy the lives of the victims and some offences have a maximum sentence of only 5 years this changes that and increases the maximum possible penalty

8 Causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity
9 Sexual activity with a child
10 Causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity
11 Engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child
12 Causing a child to watch a sexual act
14 Arranging or facilitating commission of a child sex offence
15 Meeting a child following sexual grooming etc.
16 Abuse of position of trust: sexual activity with a child
17Abuse of position of trust: causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity
18Abuse of position of trust: sexual activity in the presence of a child
19Abuse of position of trust: causing a child to watch a sexual act
25Sexual activity with a child family member
26Inciting a child family member to engage in sexual activity
47Paying for sexual services of a child
48Causing or inciting child prostitution or pornography
49Controlling a child prostitute or a child involved in pornography
50Arranging or facilitating child prostitution or pornography
