they base the UMS according to how well the population did in the particular modules. In most of the papers you would need around 65-75% to get the minimum A UMS mark. It will vary every year according to how well the everyone else did. This will make sure it follows a normal distribution/bell shaped curve centred around the average raw mark (anyone who does maths stats should know what this means).(Original post by symun)
I so don't understand the raw to UMS conversion, even after reading the PDF file on AQA's website (meant for teachers, but meh).
