For AS, I understand that I need to study Unit 1 Theory of Knowledge, but what about the other units? Can I choose Moral Philosophy over Philosophy of Religion? Can I choose Meditations over Republic? Do I need to study all of them?

What about A2, what are my choices there?

At my college studying philosophy of religion was mandatory for unit 2- if you have a choice I would suggest either doing that twinned with Meditations as Descartes is essentially a religious philosopher and many of his arguments (ontological, TMA) show up in the AQA syllabus in the philosophy of religion unit. However, Plato, in his Republic, is concerned with discussing ethics in far greater detail, so if you were to do the unit on that it would probably be a much more suitable choice. Again, I'm not familiar with the structure of your course- I'm just finishing up with second year now and we haven't had to study any primary texts.

Regards.
