Could oral sex result in tonsiltus?

I am very prone to getting tonsilitus, a week ago, after performing oral sex on a new partner, tonsilitus flared up a few days later. Is this just really bad timing and a coincidence, or should could the oral sex have triggered tonsilitus?

Anyway, I've never heard of oral transmitting tonsillitus

I got Tonsillitis the first time I gave oral sex. I went to my GP and told her exactly what I had done and she checked for it being Chlamydia and it wasnt - just simply Tonsillitis. However, i had tonsillitis earlier in the year and again a few weeks ago.
