Primary school was the best place, secondary and college were crap in comparison. I remember Through the Dragon's Eye, Geordie Racer (that was the thing with the pigeons, right?) and the magic pen thing too. Oh and I remember music lessons with Sister Sarah. We went up to the library (I think) and sat on the floor in a square and had to play instruments and sing and stuff.

We had one of those at primary school!! Wow

Did anyone else have to do that program where you tell the turtle thing how to move..?

And yeah, it was quite scary watching the kids last night; I mean, GCSE Geography teaches you important stuff but you'd think they'd find time to fit in the locations of several fairly major cities - at least roughly... Knowing that Bristol is in the West of England would probably be useful I'd have thought

hehe. someone in my primary school used to think we lived in Brighton, not Great Britain. (we lived in the North East, by Middlesborough)

singing hymns. lol, we had t do that right through until upper school in high school, out of "songs of praise" style books urgh. I remember hating it, especially when we had a form "singing practice" and we'd have to sing the same line 10 times over

Once we were asked to colour in a map of the UK. There was one girl at my primary school who had no idea at all and actually coloured the sea green and the land blue thinking that the UK was a big square with a huge lake in the middle!

oh, another thing, did any of you guys have to stand up when a teacher came into the room and say "Good morning/afternoon Mr/Mrs....." in a real monotone voice? Again, we had to do that for lower school

Locus!

i never understood the point of that
also, this was secondary school, but did anyone watch MATHSPY? the best programme ever...
Through the dragons eye was amazing! I remember having a discussion of who was more attractive...morris (green) or boris (orange) but i just wanted the dragon...he was lovely! And I cried in the big fight scene near the end. I kind of want to see it again but it could spoil the memories as it was probably absolute rubbish! Also remember the one with the pigeons, which i wasn't that keen on, and ghost writer (brilliant).
The one with the pen with the light ("top to bottom up down and flick") was called words and pictures (sorry if somebody mentioned that already)
Sex education in year 6 was mad....there was a cartoon of 2 naked people having sex which made us all giggle and a video of a woman giving birth (i think somebody spilt some paint in it?) which some kid fainted at!
And of course there was milk and playtime where we used to skip do those hand clapping things...can anybody remember any words to those? I remember doing one about a girl called suzie who got older.
Memories....

Georgie Racer hehehe

Geordie Racer, the plot was how a racing pigeon inspired a family to compete in the Great North Run. tripe.
My memories are:

1) Getting bullied

2) Being told by teachers I would get nowhere and maybe apply to be a nursery nurse

3) Being ill a lot

4) Assembly

It was a breath of fresh air when I got to college I tell you! I am going to be upset about leaving...well maybe...lol, but I've been there so long and have they have done SO much for! I am going to get them a 'Thank You' card especially my Psychology teacher and my personal tutor who have done so much for me

Does anyone remember watching that programme at primary school that taught you how to write? It had a red pen with a light at the end?

YES!!! Ahh, the magic E, my only line of defence against people who pronounce scone as scon.

in my primary school, the teachers was to put it mildly heavily biased in support of the girls. i mean being shouted at to put my hand down and when i wanted to ask a question but a girl waits 10 seconds later a girl asks and she is answered. Also when i got 20/20 in a test i got told bugger all but when a girl got 18?20 or there about the teachers did not hesitate to give the girl a thorough oral saliva cleansimng and do not think i have forgotten about you Mr Coffee at ST. ignatious primary. Iam very bitter

Someone in my class fainted too!! But that was from the heat, more than the video... We had to have all the windows open, and it was still like a sauna

I remember singing 'Milk bottle tops and paper bags, Iron bed-posts dirty old rags! litter on the pavement, litter on the beach. Is this really what we want to see? NO NO NO!' every Friday in assembly.

I also remember the day when eating anything that wasn't fruit at break time was band.

lol
We were only allowed to eat fruit for break at primary school as well. once, I brought in a carrot for break and most of the kids were like: "uuuuum! i'm telling miss on you. you're only allowed fruit for break!"
