I'm looking into this essay question and I'm wondering if anyone could point me towards the right direction as it is a really open question. I was thinking about the debt that the owe to china, the wars that they have lost and the creation of other terrorist organisations, plus trump being elected in? many thanks

For a question like this you first need to establish your criteria and then make your judgement in relation to those criteria.

For example...

Over what time period are you writing about?

What factors are you considering regarding the 'decline'? Economic? Military? Political? Cultural?

Is the concept of decline in absolute terms or relative to other countries or blocs?
