I am Having a lot of trouble figuring out the "political networks/communities" part of the specification. The book I have doesn't mention it directly at all. The closest thing to it they have are Euro groups(e.g.COPA COGECA). Are Euro groups political communities? Can some one please provide a proper definition for political communities and give me a few examples(if Euro groups aren't what they are)?

My teacher says:

'Policy networks are in fact those that have looser connections with government and where more division is found between groups, as well as potentially a lack of expertise, salience and organisation.

Policy communities are tight-knit circles of core and specialist insiders and their relationship with government departments (including QUANGOs/executive agencies) and ministers.'
Hiya! This is a nice exam thread - I've added it to the Exam Thread Directory 2017

If you see any other exam threads threads that aren't in the directory yet - let me know by either tagging me in, or linking it in the directory and I can add it in! You can also find discussions for your other exams there.

If any of your other exams aren't on there yet - feel free to make the exam thread for it yourself

Good luck in your exams
If anyone needs help, please ask.
Hey everyone. I'm an A2 student doing 3A and 4A. If any AS students want help with 1A and 2A feel free to shoot me a PM. I got an A overall with 85 and 90 UMS. I've also got a boat load of past paper 'exemplar' answers from when I did revision last year if you need help seeing what essays should look like

A2 folks, any predictions on questions. I'm doing Electoral Process and Parties for 3A and Supreme Court and the Presidency for 4A. Pretty sure they'll be a question on the electoral college after the election result, maybe something on the divisions of the democrats (I couldn't find any question like that, but did see something just like it for the republicans, so with the return of 'clintonism' being a failiure that may be a good prompt)
How are you all revising? it's just past papers past papers past papers for me.

I've heard that papers are set like a year prior to the exam so i'm not 100% sure about your Electoral College prediction, but I have no idea. Some new teacher has been teaching me for A2 and they are the most useless person ever so your guess is probably more informed than mine. My revision is just repetition of notes really, rewriting them at least 3 times. (In a little book, in flash cards & in mindmaps).
But I'm doing the exact same topics on both 3A and 4A. (Mainly because I don't have much of a choice)
Why did Wilson call a second election in 1974? Is it because he wanted to increase his majority or because the government wasn't effective and he needed to gain a majority?

Wilson had a very small majority, and he knew that this was too risky to hold at the time, so he would need to increase his parties seats. He had failed to form a solid deal with the Liberals and the SNP (I think he refused a referendum or such on independence)

Did Wilson not have a minority government and that's why he needed to hold another election? I'm trying to find advantages of FPTP & one of my counter-arguments to FPTP produces a strong & stable government is that it didn't in 1974 and that's why a second election had to be held.

Yes ^^. He was in a very weak position. And yes that is a good example. Even i nthe second election he fared poorly.
Hi guys, I'm sitting the A2 exams for unite 3A and 4A. I've been thinking about doing political parties and pressure groups for the first paper and then perhaps Constitution and definitely the Judiciary. It would be great to share revision resources here. (I'm in desperate need of some model answers too) =) Best wishes for revision!

Hi, I'm studying Government and politics AQA AS this year and wondering if anyone knows whether it is linear or modular? As in does AS year count as half my A level or not? My teacher is useless and has no idea which is slightly worrying

Hi I am in Year 13 and study AQA politics and am re sitting GOVP1 and the AS are modular this year so the exams this year count for you!!
I am currently planning a 30 marker on national conventions for unit 3A. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the McGovern-Fraser reforms were???
