Why do you need to 2nd degree? You don't need any specific degree to apply for the Big 4, so if you are predicted a 2:1 then you can apply now.

You won't get any credit in the recruitment process for having a masters degree or a more 'relevant' degree.

You know what.......that actually never occured to me....I shall look into it, thanks. Although like I said my career choices are a little up in the air at the moment no thanks to my health issues :p: being ill sucks. But hey 2012 is a new year and hopefully will bring some clarity and good fortune.....I hope.

I can't find it now, but the Big 4 HR departments gave quite a few newspaper quotes earlier this year saying graduates who don't have jobs shouldn't do more degrees but should try and get work experience and paid work instead (even if it's a manual or waitressing job), to build up their competencies.

Most people I met on my internship were at Russel Group uni's.

Likewise there were a good number from cambridge/oxford/lse etc.

There were also some from lesser uni's, like someone I met on my AC from Greenwich uni, who now has a job.

Glad I got in through an internship though as there aren't many places left by the seems of things...
