Why do you think some people are so unkind?

I do own my theories but would truly value your thoughts.

In advance, thank you...

I think a lot of people are unkind, bitter, nasty etc because of past experiences that happened to them that they maybe didn't process or deal with in the right way and therefore, take it out on others as a kind of defence mechanism and because they want to appear tough and 'not let anyone in'.
It's a facade - a mask they wear, to protect themselves, because of potential past experiences, so to stop themselves getting hurt, they instead try to hurt others, before others can hurt them.

Or they're :dolphin::dolphin::dolphin::dolphin::dolphin:. Either of those tbh

it varies

-past experiences/prejudice
-they have a weird ass sense of humour
-they think its cool to be a dick (esp in front of girls)
-they enjoy seeing others misfortune
-theyre a bully
-theyre just being a racist/homophobic/sexist in general

*deep sigh*

That makes sense.

I'm going offline for a bit.

I have some thoughts to deal with.

Watching the original 'Superman' on British ITV which is quite funny so that's pretty uplifting:smile:

I think you are more than right.

Thanks for the reply.
Because in their mind they think they are just expressing their opinions in accordance to the rights they have to do so. Unfortunately some people are so far up their own asses they don't realise they are coming across as a :dolphin::dolphin::dolphin::dolphin:ing moron to the people who have to listen to their drivel.

Sadly, I have met some people that can see their own colon very clearly:frown:

I don't believe in a 'God' nor any imaginary friends but I do believe in the positivity of compassion and kindness.

I'm a bit of a fan of the ideas that Tenzin Gyatso (the 14th Dalai Lama) has...

“My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness”.

“Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible”.

“Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them humanity cannot survive”.

I was gonna 'bang on' about a convo I had yesterday with my GP...

(relating to my being assaulted a couple weeks ago/sleeplessness/nightmares which she identified as flashbacks/PTSD wrote me a prescription which is still at the pharmacy no inclination to have it filled)

...but I don't need to now:wink:
Humanity is a horrible species. Truly awful.

I think it's selfishness, and not caring about others.

It depends on context and what you mean by unkind.

People are generally selfish.

Some people believe to be kind is to show a sign of weakness, when in fact its a sign of strength.

Some people like the power they think being unkind gives them. They can do it as a form of bullying or simply because they can.

It gives them a sense of control and power.

What are your thoughts on 'crying' - in front of others or alone?

I think quite the opposite, they're often narcissistic.

Context is important.

Crying is just an emotional response for sometimes when you feel overwhelmed with a situation.

Its a bit sad if you cry all the time because that means ether your coping mechanisms are too sensitive or you are in a truly difficult situation where you cant cope. Either way you should get help.

The opposite is never crying at all which is also emotionally stunted because they might see it as a sign of weakness when it is not. Sometimes crying can be very healthy and natural.

Individuals should find balance. I dont believe the extremes are healthy, but you should be ok somewhere inbetween. You shouldn't worry about what other people think. On rare occasions it is inappropriate and its helpful if you can keep it under control. generally its fine.
