Hi,

Can you please just tell me if these statements are correct...

What is Chemical shift:
Chemical shift is a scale which compares the resonant frequency of a nuclei in a magnetic field with that of TMS. the frequency of absorption for TMS is defined as d=0ppm and acts as the reference for all other chemical shift values.

Why TMS is added:
TMS is added to act as a reference for all other chemical shift values. The frequency of absorption for TMS is defined d=0ppm.

Thank you

you might wanna say:

Chemical shift is the measure of the resonant frequency of a nucleus relative to that of TMS.

quit the verbose :3

How about Chemical shift is the measure of the resonant frequency of a nucleus in a magnetic field relative to that of TMS. The frequency of TMS is defined as d=0ppm and is used as the reference for all other chemical shift values.

And by saying it is used as the reference for all other chemical shift values does it mean it is used in each of there calculations
